Using a mic with a goPro?

Putting together some edits this year, and the standard mic that comes with goPros kinda sucks so I was considering buying a http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/h1/index.php and attaching to pole mount that gopro is also mounted on. I don't have any experiences with mics though and was wondering if wind noise would be an issue, especially with a sensitive mic. Also, is it possible to attach the mic directly to the goPro or would I have to use each separately and sync afterwards, or is that even possible? Anyway hope that made sense, thanks

their is a program to sync sound with dslr's Im not sure what it is called but if I find out I will let you know
