So when i open up a video file in vegas and preview it the video is really choppy and skips frames. A friend told me to pre render it and it takes a really long time to do so. And every time i crop or do anything to the footage i have to pre render it again and it consumes alot of time.
same thing happens with my computer when i am working with hd videos. it might just be that your computer is not fast enough. its a pain in the ass to edit that way.
yeah even if you have a really fast computer HD can still be very hard to work with. In vegas you can highlight a bit of the video press shift B and it will make a mini-render the part of the clip according to your RAM so that it will play smoothly.
