Re - using Songs?

Hey NS,

This is kind of a strange topic, but I'll get started.

Well, over the past couple of ski movies I've watched, there have been some songs I've recognized. In fact, some of them I was planning on using in edits, a mini - movie, etc. This is where it all comes down to, would it be okay to re - use a song?

I know, this shouldn't been a thread, but I wanted to get a large opinion on this. Some songs I know are not okay to re - use, but some seem like it would be fine or just not a big deal, but I'm a little new to the filming side of our sport so let me know your opinion.

use any song you want, because unless your paying for the rights, which im sure you arent, it doesnt fucking matter. but if you use dubstep or a song eheath may have heard somewhere at sometime, you are sure to catch shit on here for it. it doesnt even have to be bad or reused to get hated on, nobody agrees about anything on here anymore.

short and sweet, fuck it. choose a song you think fits and use it.

if it fits, use it. A good song makes can make an awesome edit what it is. Who cares if its been used before

I despise re used songs, there is SOOOOOOOOO much good music out there, can you really not find a better song that hans't been used before?

Thanks for the opinion. I wasn't planning on using any hard - core dubstep. Maybe one or two songs, but nothing major.

I'd like to think that I have a list of pretty original songs. Again, thanks.

I have a huge list of songs that could fit into any type of edit. There were just a couple of songs I heard way back when and now they've been used and I realized how good they flow.

if u have a perfect song for an edit, use it. dont be a bitch 12 y.o who cares about what other people think, make what u want. with whatever you want and however you fucking want to do it. people should stop following the lead of others, and changing what they do to comply with the masses. nothing is ever good if its the same. nothing is ever new if you just do what you are told.
