It's funny how everyone starts hating some of the best skiers cuz who they think should win didn't make it far enough in an internet "competition." Chill the fuck out kids.

Skier of the year should have a lot more votes from Pros and people in the business than kids who vote for their favorites. I know Candide is a great skier but I haven't heard about him all that much in that past few years. I KNOW about candide kamera but that's all I know about him as far as results or whatnot from this year or last.

Just saying a lot of people don't know what he's been doing so, again everybody chill out.

Dude, he won the world freeskiing tour. He is the best. He could probably medal in slopestyle at x games, all after he came back from a potentially career ending injury.

I seriously hope nobody is actually upset over the results of this internet comp...

I think that they should have had 2 polls instead of 1.
1 for powder/bc skiers
1 for park/urban skiers

Also if someone kills both they can be in both polls,
this would lessen the hate and keep the voting easier. So people wouldnt have to decide between like sammy and candide.

I know he is one of the best, but he just doesn't seem to get coverage, even on here I don't see his name that often.

But yeah if you didn't see some of these replies, kids are getting upset and pissin their pants about it.

I don't understand all the hate for Freeskier on this site. I happen to love the magazine and read it cover to cover. The articles are interesting, and the photography is amazing. So whatever......It's my favorite!

He didn't kill every aspect - there wasn't a single big mountain line in his segment. I love his segment and he's ridiculously talented but skiing some powder and dropping some cliffs doesn't make one an 'all around skier'. Dominating X Games type comps and then dominating big mountain comps does and noone beats Candide in that regard. The two are incomparable.

Who ever thinks that Candid is the skier of the year is a moron. He made one awesome edit that is all. Tom and Sammy were game changers this year and deserve the win.

Whoever thinks Canidide only made one awesome edit is a complete moron who must've had his head stuck up his own arse for the past year and paid fuck all attention to anything outside the park. Candide won the Freeride World Tour in his rookie year. In case you don't know that's a fairly big achievement for someone who made his name as a park skier.

Are you serious? There was no shots of him shredding the mountain hard. Just airs. Taking off and landing. No backcountry skiing, just backcountry jibbing and looking like a degenerate all the while.

Candide, on t he other hand, sends cliffs in the middle of outrageously technical lines and SKIS THE MOUNTAIN. This site never ceases to amaze me.

True, you don't know backcountry until you've seen the backcountry, especially if you originate from a place near good backcountry or have been skiing backcountry as long as you remember. Backcountry is the only way to know if your skiing is backcountry enough for modern tastes of backcountry skiers. Backcountry.
