So, I have a bird and birds eat seeds. Moths eat seeds. I also have an inevitable, but not bad moth issue in the seed. They lay eggs and larvae live in the seed. I made a salad today and wanted to put walnuts on it. I ate half the salad and stopped when I noticed at least 5 little larvae attached to some of the walnuts. Upon further investigation, almost all the walnuts in the bag had a larvae attached to it. My bird's seed is being stored elsewhere now.
one time i ate a bunch of peanuts and later discovered there where maggots in them...i was also pretty cool with it; i mean its only really gross if you know your eating maggots.
this is why everything related to my dog is stored in a separate room from my kitchen
i was housing some golden grahams once and i looked down when i was almost done and bam, dead ants floating everywhere in my milk. i think i ate 50 of them
Apparently at dog food factories or whatever, sometimes moths can get in a batch and lay eggs on the food pellets. We bought a bag of food for our dog and poured it into the container we keep it in to make sure it's sealed. All of the eggs hatched and got all over house and garage and everything. We had a moth infestation for at least two weeks.
