apparently the islands where this happened have had a few other fights in the last couple decades. Definitely scary. As long as the larger countries (I'm looking at you, China) don't start taking different sides this shouldn't get to big though.

You already know that the US will side with South Korea and soon enough we're going to be marching in there to pick off their pussy little troops who will pull a Taliban move and hide amongst the crowds of innocent people and place IED's and such and just cause a whole shitstorm of war crap. 

I hope to God this doesn't escelate. This might happen a few times over the past few decades but now that N Korea is defenitly flexing its muscles and everyone knows of its unclear nuclear plans, I feel like this could be the start of something. Especially since S Korea fired back.

Saying it's "not a big deal at all" is a pretty big understatement. We're talking more than just a skirmish here, they fired as many as 200 shells (by some reports) onto the island. This is more than just a couple of soldiers popping back and forth at the border. Also, it's an unprovoked attack on civilians, which NEVER happens, and when it has happened the North has tried to deny involvement. But they can't deny involvement in an artillery barrage.

That being said, if nothing big has happened in 48 hours it will probably die back down again like it did after that ship got torpedoed this summer. I was in Korea when that shit happened and it was pretty crazy for a few days but things calmed down pretty quick after that.

Anyway, my girlfriend's brother is over there right now, I'll see if I can get any updates from him. He's less than a mile from the DMZ.
