there was definitely a shot or two of plake with his hair down, no doubt that was not tanner. his comparison with boxing at the end was surprisingly accurate compared to thinking tanner was a freeskater at the beginning.

Hahaha wow, that anchor from Fox News sucked so bad. I really respect the way Tanner handled him because I think if I were in his shows I would've become short and sarcastic after I realized he had zero knowledge of what he was talking about.

Tanner did well to keep cool and he gave a good interview. He was able to work in his response and correct to reporter without belittling him too much. The whole show probably really exposed the sport to a lot of people and I think that was pretty good for skiing

I dont know why some of you guys are defending the reporter so much. Its irrefutable, he really did his job poorly. HES A JOURNALIST! They do research, they investigate, and they are supposed to be able to report it correctly. A grade 5 student can write a better report all about Owls than that man did on freeskiing. Freeskating.... Xbox games.....

So

I suppose in the end the message was received and the people who do watch the Fox bizzzzzzzz channel, now know a thing or two about freeskiing, and are aware that such a sport does exist. I dont think too many of them care. It doesn't bother me that they dont care.

This whole thing sucks so much IMO. Tanner clearly went on there to promote our sport, which he did as best he could but if the reporter wasn't such a dumbass it could have been so much better. Yes it is a buissness channel but you just don't go "YOU MUST MAKE SEVEN FIGURES?!" he could have been like "with all these sponsors its clear that there is some money in action sports. How hard would you say it is to turn a passion like yours into a source of income" which would have lead to a better response. It sucks that tanner had to basically do damage control the whole time and the awkwardness of the whole interview overshadowed the whole point of him being on there. And the problem with the botched intro is that was the way to set the stage for who he was talking to, it took the whole interview really to just explain that this guy was a skiier and because of that, the audience probably spent the whole time going WHO IS THIS GUY???? rather than, WHATS A SKIIER DOING ON FOX BUSINESS?? which would have been explained if the interviewer then asked the question I said he should of.

Basically, the 4 minute clip could have done so much more for our sport if it wasn't so awkward, and it's all the reporter guys fault

Let me start off by saying that Tanner is my favorite skier of all time, a former coach of mine at World Freeride, and the most influential skier of the past decade, if not ever.

However he really needs to work on being more articulate when discussing the business aspect of the Sport. He came off as pretty uneducated in the interview, but was a gentleman nonetheless .

I thought that was a great interview on Tanner's behalf. The guy interviewing him was a moron, but Tanner did a really good job of answering questions and being modest about his success. I guess this is further proof that black people don't ski... hahaha

I was actually extremely pleased with how well Tanner handled this interview. Representing the community well. When the guy asked Tanner how much money he makes, Tanner's probably sitting there like is this guy for real?

I think it was awesome he asked how much money he makes cause he instantly recognized how incredibly un-proud skiers always are of their success and called him out for it saying that people used to be proud of their success. I think that was a pretty solid point. Straight up asking how much he makes was a bit up front, but I guess he's probably used to like football players and shit where everyone in the world knows what they sign for.

i got nervous at first, i thought he was gonna say something like, i had a robot from outer space shooting lasers into my brain, but he really did very well. he just seemed high / how he always does. but he made that reporter look like a fool (the guy made himself look like a fool too) but tanner did really well in the interview

I would actually say the mistakes are a good thing. Who knows, it'll probably get more attention than if it went perfectly and maybe more people will become interested in skiing.
