Child Leashes?

So I'm in San Diego visiting family and seein a few sites during this Thanksgiving break and I've been to Sea World and the zoo so far and I've probably seen a hundred of these child leashes... Its not that I havent seen them before, just not in this excess. I'm wondering what you guys think of them? I don't think its good for the child whether they are a little wild or not, parents are just getting lazy with parenting...

My parents used one on me when i was like 3 learning to ski, but i have seen the leashes and they look like back packs on the kids i lol'd

if my kid was running around and not listening to me, i would just smack him upside the head. i'd rather teach him a lesson than make him and myself look stupid

I had a leash. If i wasn't wearing it i would just run off in the mall and hide in stores, or do endless cartwheels down the hallways and end up kicking people by accident. I also had to wear it when I learned to ski. hahahaah

Apparently I was put on one occasionally when I was little. I have no memory of it so it couldn't have scarred me too much. I had a habit of tripping over campfire grates and the like so I suspect it was probably only when there was something dangerous nearby.

That said both my brother and I had the habit of screaming nonstop at restaurants as babies. Between the two of us my family couldn't eat our for about 6 years.

sorta. when i was three and i spent time at my grandparents out in oregon(before i moved there) my granpa would tie rope around a tree and around my waist and give me about 12 feet of rope and some toys while he tended the burn pile..... good times!

i did that in a mall when i was 4 and my dad just left for 6 hours i walked around the mall then a cop pick me up and i almost went to cs but then my mom came to the station and got me

now that i think of it, when i was young enough, i don't think any one used those. at all. they probably didnt even exist.

a couple of my friends (they both use the empirecrew account on this site) put on a child leash and rode through the park a few laps with it like two seasons ago. it was pretty funny. they were sliding rails and hitting jumps just fine until one tried to come out of a rail switch and the other went to regular and they got wrapped up and ate shit. i wish there video cause it was fucking hilarious.

actualy they prob were. just in a different place. i had one but it was used to teach me how to ski (18 years ago) i loved it and i think it actualy helped me learn.

I could agree with the parents that use them for the right reasons. If you are in a crowded park/airoprt with an adventurous little kid, there are two ways to keep them from getting lost, stolen, or hurt. Normally, you would see a stroller being used in a situation such as this, but a leash can work just as well. Children are the reason some parents wake up in the morning, and if they can keep their child safe by using a leash, then thats an example of good parenting.

Hell, there are even leashes for strollers just for added protection.

It's a dirty world out there and it's full of scumbags. All it takes is one batshit-crazy pedophile to destroy a family.

i had one when i was little. I was a crazy little fucker. i would jump off shit and start sprinting until my legs gave out. Mine was made for dogs though so i wore a collar in public.
