buddhism is what i can relate to most, seeing as belief in a god in not necessary, only a desire to reach nirvana/heaven/whatever you wanna call it. i also really like the idea of reincarnation.

as i said before, i am agnostic theist. i don't take the christian bible literally. i believe in its message to live as a decent human being, but i am not on board with the politics of christianity such as abortion and any other controversial issues. i prefer not to go to church and see it as an empty shell for 'connecting to god', whatever that is. i believe nature/the outdoors is the best place to at least appreciate that something is above our heads.

the protein string that helped our evolution had to be so perfect that the odds of it happening would be like getting "7's" across the dial on a 100 dial slot machine. i don't believe that something like that was completely left to chance, but had a hand guiding it.

do i believe in adam and eve and jesus was god's son? no, not really.

i think every religion has some good aspects to consider.

Not only is Arabian older than you, but he is smarter as well.  Where do you get the arrogance to insult him?

And as for Arabian getting banned.  Ginko is an idiot.  I already wasn't a fan of ON3P, but his behavior as a moderator on this site does not make me want to buy his skis.  NS is a site people go to in order to screw around and have fun; when mods are censoring and banning people on whim, it ruins the entertainment value of the site.

Two things.

Nobody is banned on a whim (well, not anymore anyways). Arabian deserved it, he was being a dick. He got a two day ban for me, and he's lucky, cause there are other mods that would have put him out longer, even indefinitely.

Second, on my dual roles as a NS mod and ski manufacturer - I would give up my mod status should my actions ever truly reflect badly on the company. I dont disagree that its easy for me to get tangled in a net of conflict of interests. Its a fine line to walk and I think I do it fair. If you disagree with my calls, thats fine, but I'm struggling to think how that actually reflects upon the skis I make. Because I care about NSG and promote civility in discussions, the entire company must make terrible skis, absolutely spot on.

I cant even believe I have to defend myself here.

Dads job meant we moved round the world and I've got a natural talent for languages. We lived in places like Pakistan and in the U.A.E. so i can speak some middle eastern languages like Arabic, Farsi and Urdu haha.

If the classical form if GOD exists, he's a real fucking dickhead. Isn't it fair for me to say that all the deaths by natural disasters contradict the idea that "He is watching over us"? Okay, come back and say, "well, God meant for those things to happen", and quickly the idea of a loving, concerned God loses significant credibility!

If I'm sent to "Hell" for non-believing, well fuck you God, how fair is that? Cowardly to not show yourself, especially when the world could unite as one and be at peace if we all believed in ONE god. And what happens to the followers of different, more exotic religions? I can't simply embrace a religion with any genuine certainty when beliefs vary immensely across the earth. It would be self-centered, really. "He" and human history urges me to blindly have faith in what is a fucked up human race. Sorry, I follow concrete logic and won't go for it.

If you ask me about the meaning of life, in respect to religion or philosophy, I'd say it doesn't matter much. The only things we have that are concrete are our five senses. It feels good to touch, taste, smell, hear, and see. Personally, that's all I really need. It is a hedonistic view - the pursuit of happiness. That's all life can really be about.

If you're down and out, depressed about life, confused, and feeling alone, yet you keep hearing the shithole expression, "the grass is always greener on the other side", don't fret. Just find a way to jump that fuckin' fence and get to that other side. Life's got it's ups and downs, but a little perserverance is all you really need to reach happiness and enlightenment. Someone, or something, could have made the us and the universe, and if so, I give my utmost gratitude, 'cause life is grand. But until I know more, life is just what it is. Ignorance is bliss, it really is.

This is my dogma. I practice, not preach. I'm copy-pasting it all, and keeping it forever, because I have no more words to say.

Is it ironic that most of you bitching and whining about power-hungriness and over-moderation are generally the source of the 4chan/trolling/clique bullshit on this website? Not at all.

Those of you trying to play the "Rowen is such a dick because he deletes my posts and bans me so I'm not going to buy his skis" card are only doing so to sound like you're making a point and standing up for something, when in reality, you're just blowing smoke out of your asses. I can assure you your boycotting of ON3P does not even put a dent in their ski sales, as they have a massive customer base both on this website and on TGR.

There is Rowen the person, and ON3P the company. They are separate entities. The fact that he works for them is irrelevant. If his moderation and preservation of the well-being of the site has any effect on your ski choice, you're an ignorant idiot.

Trolling is is also not allowed. Trying to claim that he's "hacked" our messages to further get the thread off topic or instigate more of this argument, as well as adding to the general BS levels is trolling. So he gets to think about that for a little bit.

We all realize there's a giant problem with spammers in the videos. We do out best to hunt them down and delete them, but we can't catch them all as fast as you may, so if you see any make us aware and we will take care of it as fast as we can!

The spammers aren't computers, they are people who are going online, making accounts on many different computers in many different places, and even IP banning (which most of us don't have the power to do) can't keep them away now that they've latched on. I can promise that there are people looking for a solution, because it's a pain in the ass for everyone.

now, please, stay on subject. If you have a problem with us or more questions, please PM or create a thread in the proper forum.

First, I don't think anybody thought he'd actually hacked Rowen's account.  He merely made up that story to exaggerate and criticize the immaturity of moderators on this site. He wasn't trolling; he was making a point.

Second, your definition of trolling (anything that gets the thread off topic or instigates more argument) applies to more than half of the posts on this website.  By evoking this rule only when somebody has offended you, you are being petty and vengeful.  This immature behavior reflects poorly on the site as a whole, and I think many users would prefer a more impartial implementation of forum policy.

It's the internet, I'm far from offended, and you're not really getting what's going on here. If you think I'm banning people to be vengeful, you're wrong.

This thread is over the top. I got a message from the member that created it worried he was going to get banned for creating a thread that has gotten so off track and full of argument.

This is the last time I'm posting about any mod beef in this thread. If you have a problem, contact me, another mod, or Bishop. If you want to discuss it in a thread, post it in the correct forum.
