To anyone over 21 or 22, how much time do you spend in the park? I know 22 isn't old by any standards, but I am definetely not in the park as much as I used to be when I was 17. I would spend all day in the park in high school and early college, but now, especially since I;m going to moving to keystone, I find myself skiing backcountry or trees or just exploring more that hitting the park. I will still hit the park up for a few laps, or if I really want to dial a new trick I will work on it for an afternoon or nail a certain rail, but I don't spend as much time in the park. Anyone else notice this happening to them?

as you get older, injuries don't heal as well or as fast.

Not really. I'm 26 and I spend most of my time in the park. I used to spend way more time skiing pow. I figure I've got my whole life to ski pow. Not that I don't ski pow still but park is paying the
bills for now.

I would agree to a certain extent, I'm 22 and I've never really spent a ton of time in the park but I seem to spend less and less time there every year. I would love to be able to do lots of crazy shit in the park but I've had a lot of concussions and my knees, ankles, back, and one of my shoulders are fucked so the odds of me hurting myself again seem to be getting higher and higher each year. I've definitely been focusing even more on my riding outside the park each year, at least until the spring and summer when the park softens up and gets a little more forgiving.

i'm 21 and i never spend time in the park because i love powder way too much. if wolf creek had a park, i might lap it a few times....then i would see the untracked stashes every and rip those.

i'm 23 and i skied almost nothing but park this year. but i really only started park last year, and i've skied since i was 3 so i've had plenty of good pow days and i was all about some new shit (don't worry i don't ski park on pow days or anything like that). but yeah injuries take a lot longer to heal....my hip still hurts from when i fucked it up IN DECEMBER

i think location and snowfall has a whole lot more relevancy to park occupation rather than age bias. if you're at a real mountain (as opposed to an east coast hill) you're more likely to freeride particularily if the snow is good. the snowfall the past few years has been kinda shitty so i guess that explains why all these little shits have been getting so good at spinning. we'll see how they do when ullr returns with full vengeance and he makes shit all gnarly

Ya why would you want to be in the park when there's gnarly powder to ski??

It's harder to find people who wanna rip park with me than it is to find people who wanna rip pow, so if I want to ski with people, it's a no brainer. I still love riding park, but it's taken a back seat. I've found that moving out west for university really but me into a 'big mtn' mindframe, and its been fun.

im 21, and I dont spend all of my time in the park. There is a new generation of skiers who seem to just ride the park, but cant even carve...

23 and when there is no fresh snow I'm in the park. I'm from the east coast so that means 75% of my time in park

Yeah im 23 and ive now blown out by my fucking ACL. Its given me a sence now that im not immortal and that injuries do have serious concequences and big implications for your future life. Ive rethought what makes me happy in skiing and allthought park KICK ASS my body is not up to the kind of punishment that the park deals out.
Its a great shame.

I'm still young, 18, but I find myself at Brek and Keystone running out in the bowls and high alpine studd, because to me that is the funnest part of skiing, yt I find myself excited to ski by park riders, big mountain riders, everything, so I'm trying to incorporate that all into my skiing. Park is newer to me and the first year (last season) I couldn't jump until march cause of an injury, so i've just been trying to get my park tricks down.

24, and instead of spending my time in the park, I try to make the rest of the mountain a park.

Yeah seriously i feel sorry for all these park rats on this site. Because honestly i wonder how many of them ski because they love it or ski so they can be in the cool scene. Id really like to know how many of these jib monkeys are still going to be skiing when they are 30 and cant hit jumps all day everyday. Id say a prett small amount

I agree with Jumpman...take the park to the rest of the mountain. I'm 26 and I hardly ever go in the park. I think I might have gone in twice this past season.

I feel the same way, Im 23 and I got about 5 days of park skiing this year, even if the snow was shitty (which it usually was) I would be out scouting a new line or trying to push myself harder. I could have progressed alot more this year but I just pursued other aspects of skiing.
