Hello newschoolers! So after debating this with myself for awhile i have decided to purchase an iMac.
Right now i currently have an hp laptop, I've had it for about a hour and a half, and i just don't like the performance of it. I believe it is 1.8Ghz, amd processer and 4gb ram and 250 gb of memory, it is also pretty small with an external disk drive. It's great for travel and internet type stuff.
I'm not all that computer savvy but i do know my way around a few programs. Right now in highschool i'm taking film and media arts classes, so I would need a faster computer for editing, the programs that i would be torrenting would be fcp, ps and illustrater and all that jazz.
So I would ideally like to buy a refurbished one as it is cheaper and whatnot, and here is the link
I don't want to cheap and just buy the cheapest mac to be a fan boy or something stupid, but i don't want to go all out and not need an excessive amount of power.
Now for the performance aspect, a 27 inch screen would be nice fo watching movies and stuff in my room, but isn't really needed but would be cool. My main question is what is the main benefit of having an i3 processor compared to the core 2 duo processor?
The computer would also be used to store all of the old photos and whatnot, along with music and the normal stuff that family computers are used for.
It should also be noted that my parents are going to pitch in for it possibly if i have a good enough reasoning, so it would probably be paid 60-40 or 70-30.
So based on what i said what would be the best iMac for me and my family? +k karma and all that shit for help.
