The rules were bracket format, each pairing would get one hit each, so if the first guy falls all the 2nd guy has to do is put a trick, ANY TRICK, to his feet and he moves on. Jon moved on with a 3, someone else did with a 7. Elias went first in the finals and crashed, so kevin took the win, within the rules.

Is it lame, yeah kinda, but if he were to have fallen on his trick, it would've been sudden death and he would've had a possibility of losing. So what do you think the smart move is?

If you also read, b-dog did a switch 9 truckdriver, dumont did a dub cork 12, what do you think wins? Yeah it is called king of style, but there is no way in hell the promoters would allow the tricks that aren't big to win. Its just like how pep and andy were cut from x-games when all they would do was incredibly stylish 3s, 5s, and zeros. Its cool for us, boring for everyone else that isn't obsessed with skiing.

Also, there are different types of style, Throwing lots of technical tricks would be classified as a technical style, as compared to a smooth style like b-dog. Either way, its still a style, so pretty much anything qualifies as long as they land.

-Simon Dumont’s double cork 1080 mute bested Phil Casabon’s switch 900 truck driver.

Elias Ambühl’s gigantic double cork 1080 pushed him over Pal Bergeron’s double cork 1080 tail.
-TJ Schiller (who oozes with style) and his double cork 1260 handily beat Bobby Brown’s double cork 1260 that he crashed on.


Kevin Rolland’s double cork 1260 defeated Aleksander Aurdal’s double cork 1080

Andreas Håtveit’s double cork 1080 double mute to octo outdoes PK Hunder’s double cork 1080.

semi finals: Rolland lands Dub 10 and Hatveit crashes on Dub 12...Rolland Win
finals: Ambuhl CRASHES on DUB 12..all rolland had to do was stay on his feet, so he did a flat 3 to win KOS. damn he earned the victory.

Edolle and Casabon have one type of style, Andreas and bobby have another style.

Stop bitching about these guys that don't thrown technical tricks not winning comps.

Their are comp skiers and video skiers.

Have you seen the runs? There was nothing stylish about them, it was a disgrace, Andy flailing zero's and Pep barely landing on knuckles. They were there to make a point, point taken, but fucking over two other skiers who would have acknowledged the rules of the competition and not just fuck around.

I think people need to calm down before vids are released..

Don't get me wrong i don't think the comp should have been won by a BACKFLIP butttt..

Some of the athletes could have crashed or landdly badly. Just becuz casabon lost to dumont doesnt mean dumonts trick was more stylie.. maybe casabon fell..

Style is having control, holding your grab, being smooth and stomping your landing like its nothing.

Your not winning a slopestyle comp if your not doing all these things.

seems like more of a progression of spinning than style..

comps arent set up for style, look at this exact comp ... king of style.. yet everyone chucks dubs on a 40 foot jump..

KOS isnt really a kind of style competition. Its just another comp thats named like that.  It doesnt truly show who the "King" of style is.  A dub 10 which is harder should win.  Simon did a switch Cork 7 truck so many years ago at X games and he didnt do well. What makes you think one extra 180 in the present day makes it a more difficult trick then a dub 10? Stop sucking Casabon's cock and realize that Simon shouldn't lose because he is simon.  The more difficult trick deserves to win.

The jump is way to small to be in control for a big trick like a dub 10.


Also city big airs are more for the public anyway and do you really think a guy that doesn't know shit about skiing will like to see a switch cork five? no

I dont get why people are so hooked on competitions anyway.
Comps are for people that don't know a lot about skiing. So go watch a ski movie instead and you will get what you want.

After watching that i feel he deserved to win.

He maybe didn't have the best trick but he won all his battles fair and square.

Andreas and Pk def had the best head to head tho.

Wow, I was really impressed with that video. They all killed it in my opinion. And I give Rolland alot more credit after watching. I mean the last trick was nbd, but everything leading up to it was legit. What the heck was that Elias did....pretty stylee I think. And Bene Mayr, awesome as well. They all looked great to me :)

After seeing the video ill still stick to my opinion and say the judging was spot on and Rolland deserved the victory. He beat everyone he faced fair and square, and like all comps there will be tough calls where both athletes lay down a sick trick. Yes casabon lost, why? because he didnt double. It is a jump contest, would he win x games big air with a switch 900 over a dub 12..not a chance. Good comp, now please shut the fuck up until after you see a video of it.

The only reason everyones mad about his backflip winning (which was sketchy) was because he had pretty much already won. Fuck, we could of straight aired tail grabbed and won. It was the finale and Elias Ambühl fell on a decently big trick. What's the point of Kevin going for something like a dub 10 or 12 and possibly falling (sending it into overtime I guess?) or risk injuring himself, put yourself in his shoes and then re-consider your answer.
