PS3 Question/Black Ops Gamer Tag

I just got Black Ops, haven't even played yet.  I want to use a different gamer tag name than I used in MW2.  Do I have to just create a whole new profile in the PS3 home screen?  Or is there a way to change my name that I used for MW2?  Is there any benefit to using my old one switching from MW2 to Black Ops?  I would think it doesn't matter to just create a new profile.

Im pretty sure the only way that you can change your gamer tag is by making a new profile. nothing transfers over from mw2 anyways. Im not a hundred percent but im pretty sure that's the only way! If you wanna add me my name is SmokingBeers
