As for number of posts, it's really more of a status symbol than something with a lot of meaning. A members post quality is far more important than their post count/karma. There are members with 10,000 posts of good, informed responses/comments and there are those with 10,000 posts filled with idiocy and pointlessness. That being said, when someone has a lot of posts they are more likely to be more knowledgeable in regards to skiing/NS. However, that rule seems to hold true less and less these days.

Yea i would agree although sometimes (not always) karma can be a reflection of a good member who gives informed responses to other members and is not filling the forums with trivial and useless crap.
