The new search bar is a joke

i wouldnt know if there are any threads on it because it is not functional so i am just making one....
i would say the google searchbar was even better, i just searched 3 different things with the same result (unhelpful and unrelated) every god damn time. Using this site as a source of information is so much harder without the proper search functions. At least put up a link to the old one like there was with the google sb

Try searching for what you're looking for with "newschoolers" in the search term. Seems to work a little better for me than the searchbar.

go to google and in the search bar type in
search site:newschoolers.com (whatever you want to search here) it usually works pretty well.

I just used the search function on this site to see if I could find an existing thread on this topic, and to be honest, I'm surprised I was able to do so. The search ability on this site is extremely lacking, and it seems to me it should be high on the site developers' list of things to work on. That said, I appreciate that this is a very complex and I would say impressive website as a whole.

why oh why can't we have a search bar with specific search options like every other forum on the web? Im talking search by forum/title/keywords/ect, it would be much less of a head ache, the current one is such a load of horse shit, arguably the worst feature on ns, just because it does not work at all. I;ll search for a thread with the exact name used and it won't even bring it up.

And why does it take several months to make such simple changes? Money? BS, my mom's business is tiny and she has a nicer search bar on her site.

It's wildly ineffective compared to the old one.

This is the biggest skiing website in the world, so much of it is incredibly well organised but for the last 4 years you guys seem to have consistently ruined the search bars, why not just make it like it used to be in the old days where you could search in specific categories? where is advanced search/

Did the old searchbar cause too much drama for mods? Why the need to change it? It can't be a money thing, right?

The search bar is useless unless you search the EXACT thread
