Airline ski damage

Im flying out to colorado soon and im always sure to basicly ducttape my skis together in their bag so they dont move around. Then i was thinking.... How many of you had skis damaged by airlines? I have no clue if this is SG or NSG so ill post it here.

I use Velcro straps to hold my skis and poles together, then pack as many clothes and gear around them until you can barely zipper the bag shut. It keeps them secure and extremely padded while decreasing the amount of gear and clothing you have to put in other bags.
