'lock' function for threads

Wouldn't it be a good idea to be able to lock a thread. I know of a lot of other forums that do this, and it would be really useful here. Instead of having Ginko's thread turn into a shitstorm, he could have made the thread, stickied it, then locked it. So people would see his message without it getting completely distorted and now deleted...Or lock threads like the chad's gap thread, cus people can search for it and see what it is, but it doesn't need 20 pages of bumps...

Bad idea. NS wouldn't be the same. Why lock a thread? I honestly see no major great possibilities it could lead to. Seems like a useless function that wouldn't be used often.....

I agree, it probably would have helped on Rowen's thread, although some of the stuff in there was hilarious

locking threads is more something i'd expect over at TGR, not on Newschoolers....

If you locked threads, kids would just make threads to say something about said locked thread.

nothing pisses me off more than going on a new forum, finding a thread im interested in, then seeing it's locked. "we're just gonna lock this one up and leave it in the archive boys." just dumb, this is a forum not a museum
