Surf and Ski In the Same Day!

So a week ago I surfed and skied the same day! In northern Ontario LOL. Check my blog for the story and video http://roymitchellsnow.blogspot.com/ but it was a jib jam during the day then I rented a Geny and set up lights for night surfing on the lake.

I was just going to post in videos but Ive been having issues getting it uploaded to NS so sorry for making it a thread but I just finished this (with Windows Movie Maker mind you) and am stoked to show it.

Ski Bear Mountain in the morning, and hit up Newport/Huntington for a evening surf session, catching waves in the fading sunlight of the setting sun.

Then go onto the beach and have a bonfire.

Good times.

Big Bear. Is it as awesome as it looks on Sunday in the Park. Im really keen to spend a couple of weeks there on a USA trip next winter

New York - am session in the Catskills and then drive 3-4 hrs (depending on swell direction) for a pm surf - w a noreaster it can get big in the winter

I did the trifecta a couple times in college. Ski, Surf, and skate in the same day. Awesome but i am beat when i get home.

Its ok but I'd really go to Mammoth if you have the option.

You could easily hit Mt High and then surf Ventura in the same day. You could get a good few hours in each sesh too they are only 2 hours away from each other.

Or you could ride Baldy and surf Venice/Santa Monica that might be even closer together.

Don't they do this at SASS? I've never surfed and skied in the same day, but I usually surf then skate at night in the summer.

How is the surfing there? I live in ottawa and i loovee surfing but i only get to every couple years when i go to portugal. Id definetly be down  for a road trip if there is any alirght surfing in ontario.

Skied Blackcomb glacier one day, drove that evening to Tofino and surfed long beach 24 hours later. All-time trip.

I've done that with Mt. Baldy.  Dawn session in Newport, steep slushy turns  on the lot runs in the afternoon.

As far as spending a couple of weeks at Big Bear....I don't know what your trip to the US entails, but I would not plan anything around Big Bear.  There is not much to do other than ski the park, I would advise Tahoe or Mammoth if you want to ski in California.
