Quick t1i lens question

hey ive just got a dvx100 and my friend has a t1i. we are going to be filming this winter and she wants a inexpensive wide angle for her camera. can anyone lead me in the right direction in what to get. thanks.

you cant film skiing with a t1i. framerates arent really conducive to action shots. i mean i suppose 30 fps is useable but pretty much impossible to slow down well.

not true at all, i have a t1i and shoot skiing, surfing, and mtb with it. it does only shoot 30 fps at 720 but you really dont need 1080 unless your planning on showing what you shoot in a movie theater. Take a look at my vids

i just said. you can use 720 @30p. but id never use a camera that didnt shoot 60fps

I'd never use a camera that didn't shoot 24fps.

Why do you need to slow down everything? That's boring and pretty annoying to watch. 720p30 is not terrible at all.

People have been making good slow motion with 60i(30fps) for 10 years...

wow. sorry for thread jack dude. yes i suppose you can use the t1i for filming, i just never hear of people who do.

evan as far as i know the t1i doesnt do 60i, just 30p 720, and 24p 1080

other guy whose name i cant remember - dvx at least does 60i, t1i doesnt.


OP - tamron does an 11-17 thatd be pretty wide, and has gotten good reviews from what ive seen.

canon 10-20 also got decent reviews.

however if you want fisheye you really dont have any choice, only option is the bower/vivitar/samyang etc 8mm.

it'S not a tamron 11-17 but a tokina 11-16. really dope lense, i got one and im pretty stock.. less expensive than a canon 10-22 and you can constantly shoot at 2.8.

for fisheye, there is also the sigma 10mm and the tokina 10-17. for photo id rather go with the sigma but i really don't know about filming.
