That post up there confused me... Threads for more info on this. I remember hearing something about there being another comp right around that time so they didn't do Dew Tour but then they ended up not hosting the other comp either. I could be wrong though.
Northstar makes things really difficult for events, etc that come to Northstar. They really fucked over the UNR mountain bike team when they put on the Collegiate MTB Nationals. Probably something similar.
Every east coast stop will be considered a joke for the slopestyle athletes because making jumps as large as out west is unheard of in the east.
as far as northstar losing the dewtour I'm sure it was a combination of things just like mount snow losing it this year.
Money
is the mountain willing to make features up to par and of the requirements of dewtour (in mt snow's case a 22ft pipe is the reason why they aren't having it)
are the athletes happy with the set ups...i know mt snow got a lot of criticism from the athletes of the jumps being too small
it comes down to a lot of things...I'm pretty upset its not at mt snow this year...but it is what it is
they will do whats best for the athletes not the fans
and I hope killy has better luck with the dewtour as an eastcoast stop because I would like to see at least 1 dewtour stop remain on the eastcoast
