Vz feenom vs. smith i/o vs. electric eg2?

I have a giro g10 mx helmet, btw. I have tried all 3 on and love them each, but I don't know much about durability and how they are on the slopes. I do almost all bc these days so  they have to be able to take some decent pow shots (I'm worried the eg2's might be be too big).

well i had the feenoms, they were dope goggles, big frame comfortable but i found that they have a very limited lens choice, which i didnt really care much about. but i sold them because i wanted a blacked out goggles this year and i was hooked on the I/Os superrrrr light cant even feel them on your face but they are kinda pricey. Then i was looking for the EG2s but thought they would def be too big....then i found out about the EG2.5 and instantly was all on them. They are going on ebay for about 110-120 if you want plain frame. But i actually bought a sample model for 83 dollars on ebay and they look like brand new!! i love them so if you think eg2s can be too big then get eg2.5.....they look good and feel good. plus many lenses to choose from.

I tried on the 2.5's and they were a bit too small. Field of view wasn't great like the feenom or i/o or the eg2.

I can get the feenoms for cheaper, so i'd like to get them if I can. Any complaints about them? I've got some shitty smith fuze's right now so anythings gonna be an upgrade. I don't mind about poor lens selection. The two that come with it are already what I'll need so i don't need to buy more. Plus the white frame/gold chrome lenses are sick.

I wore I/Os last year, and they were by far my favorite goggles, compared with Crowbars and Spy Soldiers

If i have learned anything from ns its that nothing is to big. The eg2s are a good vision you can literally see everything i love them.

Indeed, but that's the case if you don't wear a helmet (I do)... Does anyone have experience with helmets and eg2's? I haven't had a chance to try them on with a helmet, but I'm worried they might not seal very well.

ya i would have to say phenoms and I/O are my favorite to goggles of all time. i had a pair of EG2 but they always fogged up and u really cant wear them with a helmet.

Ok...are there any reasons why I shouldn't get the von zippers? I'll kick the eg2's off the list cause they're too big for helmets. It's down to the feenoms and the i/o's. Feenoms are 30 bucks cheaper on ebay.

yeah well the feenoms are smaller then eg2 but bigger then io and eg2.5. But no i had no complaints about the feenoms at all. good goggles served me well.

But the issue with big goggles in not proper seal around your face, even my feenoms were a tiny bit to big and i would get a little bit of wind in corner of my left eye for some reason. which could also lead to fogging up sometimes.

i thought u ment smith phenoms, i have had nothing but fog with vonzippers. I/O are the way to go, not to big not to small , and i have never had mine fog. try and go to your local shop and they might have a couple pairs of last years for like 100-120

Really? Cause i've heard of problems with the i/o and their lens sealing and people getting snow inside cause they're not entirely sealed around the edges. Can anyone comment on this? This would be a huge deal breaker...

i personally have never had this happem, but i can see it happening if u do no put your lense back in properly or u dont snap it in place all the way, but that can happen with any goggle its just easier to do with out a frame.

it happens a little in powder but its not crippling. i love mine. theyre so easy to change lenses.

I love my I/Os but I'd say feenoms, because taking pow shots you're likely to scratch the shit outta them. since they have no frame. If you're alright with that chance though then get I/Os

Not true. If you wear a size medium helmet or above, you should be fine. I wear EG2s with a helmet all the time and they fit perfectly (RED Mutiny II size L).

Can anyone comment on the fog issue with the feenoms? They seem like the perfect goggle so far (price, looks, size, fit). I'd like to know if this is just one person's problem or if others have had the same issue.

get the I/O. i got a sample pair for $65 three or four seasons ago. they got stolen last season, and i liked them so much i actually got another pair for this season. i never had them fog, nor did i have any durability problems. i probably wore those goggles 300 days or more over the time i had them.

i did scratch the shit out of the lens, but that was my own fault. and new lenses for I/O's are pretty reasonable. also, if you are afraid they might be too big check out the I/OS. which is a smaller framed version of the I/O for people with smaller faces.


i cant give any advice on the feenoms.

my brother has mine (feenoms) sitting on his desk and last year if it was colder than like -5 that would fog or ice over if a had any bandana, face mask, etc.

I love my I/Os. The easy of changing lenses is so awesome.

I do have one grip with them though. A couple years ago it was very hot in the spring which caused a lot of sweating and slush to wet the goggles. It didn't cause any problems the first day. After skiing, I put them in the bag like normal. The next day they would completely fog up within 60 seconds of having them on. It never went away all day long. I ended up skiing with nothing for most of the day. After that I would have to completely disassemble the goggles and lay everything out on my desk overnight to have them be usable the next day. Again, this only happened during the hot, wet, spring weather.

I have I/O's and EG2's, and have used fenoms a few times. I love the I/O... a lot.

The lens system rocks, I like the size where as the EG2 is a bit bigger than i'd like sometimes. You can literally swap a lenses in about 20 seconds. I/O + smith helmet is also a perfect fit.

Smith improved the foam this year I believe. It is more durable and i think it might mitigate some of the fog issues that the older I/O suffered from.
