Snowboard gear?

I was wondering why i never see any skiers talk about Burton, 686, Ride or any other snowboarding companies outerwear. Some of their stuff looks pretty legit.

Dumbass. 686 is some of the highest quality outerwear you can buy. Guarantee it will last 10x longer than your shitty Saga or LDC.

I have come to the conclusion that it doesnt matter what company makes your outerwear. As long as it looks cool and isnt shitty quality.

I know heaps of skiers who wear snowboard outerwear. The only possible reason they might not is because snowboard outerwear is designed to looked cool with a wider stance then skiing outerwear.

For example look at how they model the outerwear

but most likely if you look for skiers wearing snowboard outerwear you will notice a lot of skiers

but really. I like 686, their gloves are top notch. it's funny how you only mention one of the companies he listed though, not really backing yourself up there. and as far as it lasting, it's all about how you take care of it in the end.

i have a oakley jacket and pants setup, but also a 686 down jacket to keep me nice and toasty on those really cold windy days. its an amazing coat, love wearing it.

i dont know why some skiers have this attitude against wearing snowboard outerwear (and vice versa with snowboarders), as long as its quality shit who cares who designed it.

but i like to rep and support skiing companies. fd, salomon, saga, ect. i do have burton and special blend though and thats some good stuff. sorta.

i had a holden jacket for the last 2 years that i liked a whole lot, it just finally wore out so i ordered Saga.

i will consider pretty much any brand besides Burton or Tech 9, it's just that i kinda like to stand out in a crowd. id rather buy a lesser known brand than Burton or DC or Oakley or anything like that just cause i dont want to have the same shit as all the gapers. getting a Saga setup is a little more tricky than going down to Sports Authority and just buying it off the rack mid-season, and that's kinda why i like it.

oh, and dont get me wrong, mass-appeal isn't the only reason i dont buy Burton stuff.

What he said... and I have been supporting snowboard brands for too many years (not many options in a small prairie ciity), so now I make a conscious effort to support ski brands before snowboard brands. Gotta rep skiing stuff to keep the industry pumping.

the Burton AK line is a sick line of gear. and yeah, snowboard companies do cater to snowboarders and there is a simple reason for that - the ski industry tried to block and jam out Burton when they started building boards. some of you might not remember but when snowboarding came out ski hills wouldn't allow them on the hill. if you were lucky you were allowed to walk up the hill. point is, if it looks sick and is going to survive the weather - ride whatever you want!
