I'm looking at buying some park specific poles, but i hear that people usually ski much shorter poles in the park. I'm 5'10", would for example a 44in pole be good for me?

It all depends on how much length you want. I'm 5'10 and I have 36 inch poles because I like them a bit shorter like just at the hip. Some people want longer poles some want shorter it's all preference, but don't get them at knee level it's pointless and looks really dumb.

You want them to come close to your nipples so that you can push well to get speed for features.

That sounds like a decent length for you. When you hang your arm down and raise your forearm up at a 90 degree angle, if your pole can touch the floor that's roughly your standard pole length. For park skiing go about 10 (cm) shorter and it should be good. It's a bit down to personal preference though, I like to have my poles a tad longer for allmountain/powder conditions.

Yeah that makes sense. I already have a set of poles that i think im gonna keep using for all mountain/pow, so going a little shorter probably makes sense. thanks guys.
