I feel like a thread needed to be made about this.  Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Bach, etc. will dominate ANY music made today.  Post up your favorite classical music, or feel free to prove me wrong.

Absolutely to classical music. I play the viola and we just played Shostakovich's Festival Overture in orchestra... it was terrific. 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky is great too. Russian composers are probably my favorite. I listen to a lot of different types of music, but classical is up there for sure.

Shostakovich Symphony 5 Finale more epicness (the picture kinda sucks but it was the best recording I could find on youtube)

These are my 2 favorite pieces. ever. The orchestra I'm in played Firebird last year, and the Finale was amazing. It's just breathtaking sitting in the middle of the intensity of that piece.
