Bungee

I was wondering if medical grade bungee cord would work as a bungee cord to pull me and my friends across the snow?

any suggestions?

those bungees are pretty expensive for a poor college kid

I thought i heard something about someone doing that and it worked just like a Banshee Bungee. Not 100% sure tho

i really doubt 1 strand would work. If you get 3 strands and braid them together you will be all set.

Tie some bike tire inner tubes together could work just as well and will save you lots of money. Ask your local bike shop for poped tires they got tons and the holes are never that bad.

Ya man get a Banshee Bungee. We just introduced a price-point 10 foot bungee, The Bungee Lite. If you don't need a shit ton of speed and are looking for something cheap that will actually last, get the Lite. If you want more speed definitely get the normal 10 foot bungee or the 20 footer if you want to haul ass.

i was wondering the same thing too...

i think i'm going to go to home depot tomorrow and get around 3 10ft strands and braid them togather and see how that works

I tried this, I cut them in half so I had two circles and braided three together and tied three links of that together.... it was took 4 people pulling it back and i didnt even have enough speed to hit the rail. might work better with road bike tires.... its worth a try if you get popped inner tubes for free but mountain bike inner tubes cut in half dont work very well. just a heads up.

you can get it at home depot. it's in the plumbing section. they label it as low presseure gas/ water hose (medical tubing). and i think it's sold by the foot.

the regular 10 footer. we inherited that one from a friend and as long as you have like 3 people to stretch it you can haul ass.

thank you. thats half of what the banshee 10' lite costs. so for the same price you could have a 20 footer... but does it have the same amount of power is the next question.

i highly doubt it. you're talking surgical tube, which already has a smaller diameter than the bungees, and they are hollow, unlike the solid rubber bungees. but if you're down to try it out, let us know how it works. I would probably recommend braiding 4-5 strands of it, rather than 3 though.

Really curious as to seeing a sample if someone trys it out. Also, keep in mind

IF YOU ARE BRAIDING YOURSELF 10FT BECOMES ~7-8FT. and so on. As you braid it , the weaving cuts down on the total length. If you want a 10 ft finished product go with 12ft strands or something to be safe.

Im curious to how medical bungee works, and how the ebay stuff works.
