Afterbang owners!

looking to buy jib/urban ski and everyone points to the afterbangs.. what do the owners think of them? are they that much softer and nicer of a ski to hit up rails and shit? I have TNK's to hit up jumps so there not a factor so i want to know if these are what im looking for

You pretty much answered your own question. The afterbangs are a bomb proof urban ski, but dont have the strongest backbone to save you if ya mess up on the big stuff.

they are meant to take a beating and so far mine have held up great. they are slightly heavy but you can compensate for that. the only bad thing is that they have extruding bases which makes them super slow on flats.

i dont like em, they feel dead to me.

they are in pretty good condition after 1 season + hood with only 1 edge crack.

i definitly feel that i should have gotten a much sturdier ski because i like jumping so much.

although they may be durable, they are heavy.


all in all, i dont like em, but i will use em this season for everything until they break, and then i'm never using them ever agin

but if you that's what you want in a ski then they're great.

I did like them better than other price point skis like threats or el reys.

I love my bangs
I have my skis long so they are pretty stable for me on jumps, however then biggest I have hit on it was 45 foot jump
the flex is sick for rails and they take a hell of a beating
however, you need to wax them a lot due to the extruding bases
go into a store and flex them. if you think that they are too soft, then get the step ups
they are the same dimensions, same construction, but they are stiffer

I don't like mine. I bent one with not much use and they are pretty useless out of the park, which I thought would matter coz I only like park but I was surprised.

I'm gonna get a stiffer ski next. Cryptonites.

i love mine. everybody says they are slow, but i dont think so. the bases seem to get marked up fairly easy, but they have a crazy low swing weight, which is great for urban, and they are bomb proof, except for the few chips you may notice. I have been doing taps onto rails with them, bashing them into metal, crossing my tips on landings, stupid shit, and have only noticed one minor chip so far.

haha weird, i had tnks before i just bought my a bangs, i like em alot, theyre actually good in pow somehow, i did not expect it, a little heavy, first run was a little sketchy cause i was trying to hit jibs already but by the end of the day, they were great. They felt sturdy and balanced too. So far a great ski
