What is the most scared you have ever been in a real life situation?

For me there is a couple but the one that sticks out most in my mind is when I was driving in my car in the snow and started swirving going about 45mph on a suburban road with a brick wall to the left and a forest to the right. I tried hard to correct the cars swirving but I then went sideways drifting to the right watching all the thick-waisted trees that I was barely missing, and the cliche of 'my life flashing before my eyes' happened. Then my car was ditched and had to get it towed out, and I didn't catch my breath or my normal heartbeat for another 4 hours.

it was most definitely this winter when i was driving up the resort to ski before work. i was driving pretty fast, i'm a speed demon, and i know the road well. it was snowing a little bit, but nothing that messed up my view and it wasn't piled up anywhere. i came around this turn that wasn't even very sharp, and as i finished through the turn, my rear end slid out a little bit, which happens a lot so i just tried to get it under control. i couldnt and i started fishtailing both ways, and i finally thought, this is it, i'm crashing. so the car swerves over to the other side of the road, hit the ditch which was abnormally deep, and the car is barrel rolling through the air. i land upside into a telephone pole and it breaks in half and lands on the road. i'm just sitting there upside down and the first thing that comes into my head is, ''i'm ok, i wont need to go to the hospital and get an iv'' so when i figure out how to get out of the car, i let myself out my seat belt and fall and hit my head on the roof. i had to crawl into the backseat which was no easy task cos the car was basically demolished, and i see my front right hubcap is sitting in the backseat. i crawl out of the door (and shut it behind me, lol) and i see all of my ski stuff is all over the road (new pants, coat, boot, hat, gloves...and still cant find my goggles...not my skis cos i keep them at work) and i start picking it up. i try to call someone on my cell phone but the battery pack was lost. so i'm picking up my stuff and a car comes and i'm like, ok they'll stop. no, they drive AROUND the telephone pole on their side of the road and keep going. finally a woman stopped to get me, but she said she wasn't going to stop b/c it looked like and old accident...i'll post a pic in one of the forums so you can see the damage later

for J.D. or Irish or any one else who has tried suicide, I have one question. I can understand why you would do it, although I don't really think it's the best way to go abotu things no matter what situation you are in, but I have a question abotu teh manner in wwhich you choose to commit suicide. Why would you do something like slit your wrists or take pills or something. Personally, I would go out with a bang, I would do everything I have access to that ive always wanted to do but never had the chance, and then Id go find a way to die that would actually work and would be CRAZY, and a crazy ruwsh, like jump off some huuuuuuuugeee building, yeah that would be weird.

Ive had 2.

1st Was NASTY. I was traversing across the face of a particularly large cliff (which ended onto rocks about 20meters down) definte death if you go over. And wed dug our snow hole and decided that the traverse was safe so i called first tracks. I was mega cautious and i was stamping the snow to see if it was safe. The first step that i took and about 8meters squared of slab 1ft deep breaks off with me smack bang in the middle. Instantly panic as im now heading terrifying slowly for the cliff of death. ABSOLUTLY nothing i could do and my friends and myself included were screaming. SOMEHOW and i still dont really now how i stuck my right leg down hard and the bottom of my ski hit and caught a rock and i stopped falling. The rest of the snow above me kept flowing past me pushing me harder and harder towards oblivion and then..............it stoped. I was about 3 foot from the edge and breathing very hard.
Picked my self up very carefully and skiied the bowl. Which was excellent.

2nd was in a car. In the UK we drive on the left. and on this occasion i was particularly baked driving back from a mates. I was slowing down to turn right (so i cross the lane of oncoming trffic) into my house. I didnt signal cos it was around 3am and i couldnt be fucked. Just as i make the turn, a car i had not seen comes past me at well over 80mph. (my road is long and straight and people go fast) I actually touch the side of the overtaking car with my front bumper but luckly it was the slightest of slight touches so neither he nor i was affected. So after the ensuing panic and several heart attacks i restart the car and make it home in one very fortunate piece. (if id made the turn any earlier i would have been mince meat.

Prolly when i was like 12 my friend and i burned down this guys field by accident and the cops and shit were screaming in our faces about how we were going to jail and had to pay for it. i think i was more pissed than scared tho.

we were driving to banff a few summers ago and we were in the passing lane and then theres those big cement block thingers on one side and a big ass semi on the other. we started to pass the semi and it started moving into the passing land without looking. so yea the horn was going and the fucking stupid truck driver pulled out of the lane. i've never seen my dad so mad or my mom so histarical(sp?).

mt hood summer ski camp cliff jumping, did the biggest one 3 times beat the recard which was twice in 4 weeks by one person i did it 3 times in one afternoon and the 3rd time i landed wrong felt my feet touch my head and i was in the water looking up and i BREATHED underwater. i was like......damn....im dead..... not too shabby.....but then my body floated to the top and i couldnt move from the arms down so i was able to hold on to a rock...then i was like shit im paralyzed....but then i managed to crawl up and i was ok just i can t sit a certain way because it kill s my lower back and still does now....have never been to a doctor bout it cause i wanted to keep skiing.

The most scared I've been was when I was home alone and this guy comes up ina jet black cadillac (sp) and he gets out and he's this built, massive, mexican guy with tons of chains and stuff on. Not a regular person you would see in my town. So I can see through the front window of the car and there's this pale white blonde girl sitting in the passanger seat and she's pale as a ghost and she's just staring straight like nothing's happening. So the guy starts banging on my door as hard as he can, I thought he was gonna knock down the fucking door. So I grab my field hockey stick because it hurts like a bitch if you swing it like a baseball bat at someone.

So the guy continues to bang on my door and after five minutes he just says 'fuck it' and drives off. So then, about a minute later I see him driving around my street. He would like slow down when he got next to my house. Then he just stops again in my driveway, backs up to my nextdoor neighbors house, and drives about 90 down my street and I never saw him again. I thought I was going to get kidnapped, killed, etc.

havent the cops about 15 feet away spot lighting u and hiding behind a fence was scary but the most i have ever been scared i think was when i broke my hip. being launched a 150 feet of a whale back and the only thing being able to see is tons more whale backs and knowing ur going to land on one is scary as fuck.

this is not my scariest thing that has ever happened,but one time at my friends house, wew ere about 7-8 and we were walking up in the woods behind his house.. Then all of a sudden these coyotes come out, and start to bark at us, and chase us. I dont think i ahve ever ran that fast in my life

When i was babysitting a little boy pointed a gun at me........the reason how he got it was that his dad is a cop and left his gun in his civilian bag, and somehow the kid knew it was there and took it out to 'play' with it when i was giving his sister a bath......luckly it wasnt loaded yet that was by far the scariest shit i have ever experienced

i was practicin on my trampoline last summer and one day and im doin tryin to do a lincoln loop. Then I miss the tramp and go down on to the grass on my head and neck. I lay there and thought fuck Im paralyzed. I coudlnt move for like a whole fucking five minutes which was probably one of the scariest times of my life. I just thought i was gonna never be able to do anything again. Then I tried to move and it fucking hurt all over. So i moved my foot and i figured i wasnt paralyzed. That was pretty scarry and i havent done anything more than a backflip on my tramp eversince.

1st one was last year when both me and my friend ejected skiing some pow. turned out all the snow was over a bunch of pine trees like about 6-7 feet tall so their was huge air pockets, we both fell in and the holes started to cave in, i finally managed to climb out and help him

2nd would be swimming out to this rock, at bonnet point, its like a 30 footer u can jump off, but anyways while i was climbing up a wave about 6-7 feet came out of no where, slamed me against the rock, and dragged me under, i was under for about a minute and throwin up when i finally reached shore, then my friends came in and pointed out that the skin on my stomach and back was ripped to shreads, we had to rip up shirts and shit to stop the bleeding, i was convinced i was dead the whole time i was under, probably pissed myself, but i was underwater so no one noticed, thats one plus i guess

Ok, my car accident story is just funny. It had just rained heavily after a prolonged dry, sunny period, so the roads were slick, and my dad was unable to stop the car before it rammed into the guy in front of us. The funny part was, we were transporting stuff to my summer house at the time, including the good china (it's not china, it's some expensive sort of dishes, teacups etc. that I forget the name of), worth several thousand dollars. Also, and more importantly from my perspective, we were also transporting a situp bench, which has these 3 inch wide metal legs. I had one at forehead level right across in front of me. We hit the car in front... WHANG. That was one hell of a headache, and blood in the eyes is no fun either. Glad I have a thick skull, though, or I might have fractured something.

2 things: First when I was about 10 or 12 I was rumaging through a junk pile at my grandparent's farm. I was trudging through it when I tripped and fell backwards. I kind of fell like I was sitting down onto something. When I look down at my thigh (I was wearing shorts) I saw about an inch of spike sticking up out of the skin. I screamed and tried to get up but I was impaled on it and couldnt move. Then my grandpa yanked me off and all the blood everywhere made me think i was going to die.

The second was last year in Chile, South America. My friend and I were DRUNK, really really drunk, at like 8 at night on a sat. night in downtown Vina del Mar. It was packed with people, and I can barely remember what exactly happened. I remember a carabinero (The chilean police that look like little military dictators) stopped us and started yelling at us and threatening us. Then 2 more came and they had a huge german shepard. They were saying they were going to take us to their cars and search us and that we were in big trouble for being so drunk like this. Normally this wouldnt be a problem but I had about 3 or 4 grams of coke in my pocket at the time. I just remember rolling in between my fingers while staring at the police dog and remembering something our director told us: 'if they catch you with drugs down here, its game over. You would be lucky just to get deported'. Scary shit. Luckily somehow they just let us go and told us to go home. Somehow we ended up at strip bar and my friend puked on the stage.

1. Skiing Scoots bowl of jupiter access at park city on the biggest powder day and this stump that was completely buried caught my ski and threw me off like a 30 ft cliff into deep powder almost face first, it didn't but it was freaky.

2. Jumpin on an olympic tramp at UOP in park city and i hit near the side which those of you who have jumped on one knows that is really throws you and i was doing cork 7 and i hit a metal pole off the side of the tramp with my shoulder and fell on my face to the pads, and all the emt's were running but i had just bruised the bone, it was scary.

School shooting. Some kid brought in a 12 gauge shot gun, and a sports bag of ammo. I was stuck in a class room for three hours in lockdown mode and no body knew what was going on. Then people got cell phone calls from their parents and their parents told them it was a school shooting. Everyone freaked out and we thought we were all going to die, but then we went online a chacked the news website, it said one teacher was shot but they took down the guy with the gun. We were escorted out by swat teams with huge guns, and armor and stuff. We found out later that two teachers saw the kid with the gun and wrestled him down and one teacher got shot in the leg and another student almost got shot. After it was all over it turns out the kid who did it I used to hang out with in elementary school and a little in 5-6 grade, and my sister went out with him for like a week. Scary stuff

one time i wuz goin off of a jump and it wuz a pretty big one at that. i had just had my skis waxed so i didnt no wut speed to go. so went as fast as i cood and as soon as i hit the trannie i new i wuz fucked so i went off the jump landed on my ass rolled over on my ski and srewed up my hip pretty bad. i coodent walk walk strait for like two weeks.

Then just today she looked all sad and she said im thinkin about stuff, and i said what? she goes dead serious and says ' i never had my period' scared the shit out of me, and she knew then she told me it was a joke but i didnt laugh

My throat swelled up once from a wasp sting, looking in the mirrior after I split my head open, and last but not least.. Hiding from a burgler.. It was a cabin in nowhere and I heard somebody.. they stole guns.

I have two bad ones I can think of.

The first one, I was driving to school early in the morning, at about 7:30. There was water on the road, and my car started sliding on a freeway on-ramp that I took too fast.
The weird thing is, I do this kind of thing on purpose all the time, but I didn't actually notice it was happening until my car was pretty much moving sideways at 60 mph in the middle of the interstate. I guess I must have been really tired or something. I managed to bring it back around, but the moment when I was totally sideways just scared the shit out of me.

For my other one, I was skateboarding, going fairly fast down the hill outside my house (without a helmet... i'm stupid), and the skateboard pretty much did the same thing as my car did... maybe there was oil on the road. I ended up falling backwards off it, and all the impact was transferred directly to the back of my head. I was scared that I might have been brain damaged or something... but I guess I was ok. I do have a huge dent on the back of my head now, though.
The scary part was the moment where I went off backwards, though.. I still remember it really vividly.

I hydroplaned my new car on the interstate, turned 90 degreees and slammed into a snowbank. I flipped through the air a total of 5 times, and landed on a tree, which stabbed through the trunk. Every window exploded at some point, and the car was full of snow when it stopped. I was able to pull myself out of one of the windows, and I was perfectly fine, but the car was trashed. Good way to waste $20,000.

One instance for me was when I was driving over our pass about 2 years ago. The pass has crazy roads that are only opened for part of the year. They are extremely sharp and don't have guard rails stopping you from plummeting off the cliff that drops about 300 feet below.

I was driving pretty fast. I was on a straight away going about 65 mph. A sharp (15mph recc. speed) turn comes up so I go to press on my breaks. But nothing happens. I'm going downhill starting to pick up more speed and heading directly for this cliff. I tap on my breaks again. Nothing happens. I Panic. I start pumping my breaks and then try slamming on them, but I'm still hauling ass. It's come to my last resort. My heart is pounding. I pull the e-brake, realizing that I could still slide off the edge or get thrown into a wall. But still, nothing happens. I'm now going 70+ mph coming straight at a cliff. There's no way I can take this turn going this fast. I remember closing my eyes, accepting that I was going to die, and getting ready to be hurled off this cliff. About 5 seconds go by. I open my eyes and find myself still on the road and somehow making it passed that turn.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

Most scared i've ever been was falling asleep driving home on a highway. Well, that part wasn't scary, the waking up 2 lane widths off the shoulder realizing that if you woke up 1 second later you would've rolled the car part was scarier.

I live in this hick-ass bum fuck nowhere town, and the cops don't take kindly to a kid that doesn't play basketball and rides a bike.. so this one time i was riding, and i had an ounce in my backpack that i was goin to sell to some people, and all of a sudden a cop turned his lights on and was chasing me.. so i quick ninja peddlaled my skinny white ass outta there, and hid in the woods nearby, and they were walking through the woods and shit, and the confiscated my bike :( fucking hick pigs, so i let the air out of their tires this other one time.. it was cool.

the scariest moment in my life had to either of been (1) standing at the top of a 80ft. cliff looking down into the water after my friend had jumped, i was watching to see if he was going to come up. i wasn't planning on jumping, but it was taking him a while to come up. when he surfaced he was just floating with his head down. one of my other friends jumped in and pulled him out. he landed a little weird and broke two of his ribs and got a severe concusion causing him to black out or some shit.
(2)when i was 11, i was playing in this play-ground down the street from my house and this strange man was watching me. i decided to go home and he followed me so i ran.. he started running and put his arms out to grab me.. good thing i could run fast because i made it home and called the cops but the time they got there they couldn't find the man. and (3) waking up after over-clearing a jump on my skis, realizing that i couldn't sit up because i broke my back
