Rossignol S3 Freerides or On3P Jeronimos - East Coast

I am in the same dillema, i am leaning towards the s3 because of great reviews, but I dont know if i need all of that rocker and a 98 waist, because when conditions suck (seems to be alot time) i am usual lapping the park...

Well, you can pick up the S3 for $150 right now on Tramdock.  For that cheap, I'd go S3.  Any other time I'd go Jmo though...

When i rode the s3 i HATED it. Just wasnt that great in any aspect imo. Definitely go with the jmo

Tell us a little more about yourself, and what you are looking to get out of the ski.

I rode 186 S3's last winter as my non-pow everyday ski and really enjoyed the ski overall. The combination of the rockered tip/tails and the camber underfoot really made for a fun and playful ski all over the mountain. My only complaint was that for me, 6'2" and 185 lbs, they weren't quite as supportive as I would have liked. I found the tips chattered considerably at speed and over crud, and the tails would wash out when I would get a little backseat.

I sold my S3's and now have a pair of Jeronimo's ordered up. I am really looking forward to getting them on snow this year! They are slightly narrower than the S3's but will have the added stiffness that will fit my riding style. I know the Jeronimo's will be able to fill the S3's position better than the S3's did in my quiver as my daily/play ski.

If you live on the lower east coast I would go with something with a smaller waist as opposed to a bigger one cause I don't get any snow thats not slush or ice so not only is there no need for a wider ski (they are fun though) it really starts to be annoying at night when it's all ice.

I actually prefer having a wider ski regardless of the condition. My daily skis for park/all mountain for the past 5 years have been just around 100 mm at the waist. I rode 115mm at the waist, JJ's everyday the season I owned them, even on ice and I didn't have any issues either.

It's all preference.

yeah probably. i don't think I would want any wider for NJ than I have right now.

and i would rather support ON3P. they are all over this website, ready to answer your questions and help you out. they are skiers who have a passion for making skis and a passion for getting people on the snow with the best skis possible.

This is the truth.  And I haven't skied S3s, but Jmos are most likely better quality.  Go for the Jmos.

However, $150 for S3s on Tramdock is a steal, but that's over.
