Question to any Tenor Saxophone Players

What are some ways to improve tone quality and create a darker sound?  Are there any specific mouthpieces that are good for this?  Thanks for any good answers.

mess with the distance you leave between the wood piece and mouthpiece, that will allow you to play a little more on the pressure you put on the wood piece.. therefore allowing you to get a deeper tone. it might be a little more airy tho.

i played for 3 years in highschool. but its lot to do with airflow and, the pressure on the wood piece and that gap.
