Theres some pow left if you just find it. Little stashes here and there. Still was a kickass day today. Pretty sure I am heading up all this weekend.

Yeahhhh suprisingly there was some good pow and some really fun jibs. Mixed it up and had a blast. I definitely wouldn't pay for a ticket though. Super fun day though.

I'm jealous of y'all that got to ride today. I'll be up at brighton tomorrow. How much of the park was set up? Or just natural jibs? I'm just trying figure out if I want ride my prophets or s4s...

I would also like someone to confirm how much lift tickets are. I called Brighton last night and they said they didn't know how much tickets were gonna be yet, which was kinda ridiculous, but yeah.

to tell you the truth the park isnt worth it.. i just rode all day, didnt touch the park once and had the time of my life. all the boxes were a lot more centered for snowboarders.. but hey to each his own

My friend bought a ticket today and it was $42. no promises that it wont be a little more on sat/sun because it's a weekend though. It was sick today, park was obviously pretty weak, but lots of dope early season pow. I got worked landing on a rock though. There are some legit drops to hit, but scope well.

anyone know were to score some cheap tickets/2 for 1's? Trying to drive over from Idaho this weekend to ski wherever I can find tix...last year I found some 2 for 1's to snowbird and it was awesome....let me know if you can help me out, thanks!

yeah there's 2 little parks. One has 7 features, all pretty small and the other one has a wallride 2 down boxes and the up rail, s rail. Here is a vid from it...

I was sort of disappointed with the set-up. Seems like they just picked features at random and placed them. I saw nobody hitting that round rail thing. The dancefloor blox and those 2 flat boxes were fun, though.

This. The Park is a let down. I was only strolling through it to see how my new skis were on jibs. Other than that, I was shredding some trees and crud.

There's also rocks and fallen trees under the pow. I have 4 more months of safe pow skiing when I don't have to worry about breaking my legs off at the femur.... for now it shouldn't be that difficult to have 4 good rails set up when you know you're going to have 200 people itching to hit them.

I like your enthusiasm about pow. I share the same, but it's still early and some kids got hurt from hitting rocks, stumps, etc. The wind can quickly alter (and has altered) what little base we have. Also I really don't feel like destroying my new skis even though I haven't hit a rock with them yet *knock on wood*.

I hate this whole park vs pow battle. I've skinned Alta 6 times or so in the past 2 weeks and if I choose to ride a few little boxes does that make me a park rat? Honestly stop being so condescending, everyone had a smile on their face at Brighton, that's what matters.

And it's just that I know they have the features to make it good. I watched the video, and the stuff they had set up pre season looked like more fun.

I'm thankful for them to be open, and I'm stoked on the fresh snow, but after touring around Alta for the last few days, I just wanna hit one down rail or a fun feature for a bit.

Can't wait. I'm sensing another jump line opening day....

Until then, I am extremely thankful for the snow at brighton and all the fun I have had in the past 2 days. I'll be sure up there tomorrow hiking jibs with friends.

snowbird was really fun yesterday, pow in the trees was good if you were there early....we got there an hour early and made first tram so there was some fun runs to start off the day....A little sketch with rocks,e ect but its all good....Found some fun drops, pow rollers, ect and made the best of the day, really stoked to get some pow turns in nov 13th....

I snagged a gnarly rock after a small drop and my ski exploded off....its was pretty funny, and luckily I didnt get hurt at all and laughed it off...my ski has a decently long scrape on the base but thankfully its not close to hitting the core of anything, just need to basegrind it away....I got a video of it on my go pro that Ill upload here in a minute, its pretty funny my ski literally explodes off my foot.

Overall the best november skiing Ive had in a long while, early morning pow was really fun and mellow.

Found a nice little rock under Gadzoom yesterday...sent my ski flying. No core shot or anything, just a minor scrape haha....thank god. Over all awesome day, like ^ said...too fun for November haha

Are you referring to avy danger? I don't know how skiing 6-10 inches of fresh would be stupid. I'm staying in bounds, I heard the cannons going all day yesterday, I'll even my wear my helmet for you too.

I think I'll be ok.

I think he was trying to warn you not to go out of bounds.  If you don't know how dangerous 6-10 inches can be, then you really shouldn't be out there EVER.  With the amount of winds we had yesterday, combined with the water in the snow, there are some fairly persistant slabs forming out there.

Yeah yeah thanks for the gentle reminder. I have taken avy classes I know all about faceted snow grains, winds deposits, and temperature gradients.

No one knows how dangerous 6-10 inches is. What I learned from the class was you can dig a pit, test the snow, and it will be fine. Did a pit 3 feet to the left and it could be completely different.

Snow is too unpredictable because of the above fact and slope angle changes as you ski down a hill.

Not so bad right now, but the real danger is what is to come. Just know your directions and stay off directly North facing high stuff. You won't get buried, but it could send you over some stuff that would not be pretty.

It's going to warm up the next couple days and consolidate everything, which is good for the time being. However anything that falls from now on is going to just slide right off.

A SERIES OF COLD WINTER STORMS WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA
BEGINNING SATURDAY AND CONTINUING THROUGH MID WEEK.

SNOW WILL BEGIN IN THE MOUNTAINS SATURDAY AND COULD BECOME HEAVY.
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE MOUNTAINS OVER THE 5
