It would be a good idea to still take them apart and bend them the proper way. You could just pull them out a little, but this will make them very susceptible to catching when landing switch, and cause them to snap. Bending them the correct way allows you to even give them a slight inward angle when closed, to best eliminate catching on hard switch landings.
I'm just saying it might be something to think about. I stretched a pair of FKS 75mm brakes over 80mm skis once before I knew better. It made them loose so they would jiggle, and the angle outward led me to break 3 of the 4 arms off on switch landings.
