i just want to say how much of a worthless sport it is.. yes the rest of the world loves it. but iam glad i live in teh us where its not loved.. u wanna know why when the fifa world cup happens they changed it form football to soccer.. and yes i played soccoer for 5 years.. and then i quit went to counseling to overcome what i had done..... now i play football.

yeah only unfit faggots say soccer is borring, so they pick up something like football (which is named after soccer) or baseball. two sports where you dont have to run if you dont want to. soccer is the sickest school related sport well besides hockey that kicks ass.

I play rugby which requires twice the endurange as football if not three times and just as much if not more then soccer, i've played soccer for 9 years and finally quit because i hated it so much, so i have every right to say that the sport is boring

the problem with football is that is too stop and go and you can be fat and still good at it. i hate all the stops and shit, it makes ti sooooooo fucking boring and then some short dude just takes the ball and runs into a huge group of people. with soccer there is constant action and you can do cool moves and make cool goals, i mean some football players can dodge and shit, but soccer is way cooler and takes more skill for sure, i've played both. soccer takes the cake. hockey is super sick too. i love that sport.

I love when people try to make something sound stupid by trivializing it. Any sport or activity is gonna sound dumb if you do that.

I also don't get why one sport has to be better than the other. Fine, you don't like soccer, then don't play it. You see the same stupid segregation between skiiers and snowboarders, skateboarders and rollerbladers, Canadians and Americains, blacks and whites.

Perhaps a little extreme, but my point is, get over it. I don't like ketchup but I see a reason to start a conflict over that.

Soccer is awesome. I played it for 10 years, until I recently quit. Soccer isn't just kicking a ball up the field. You DO have to play as a team, pass the ball around, and make different plays. If soccer is just one on one, then why do you see mostly passing, give and go's, crtosses, and not many break aways? I played keeper, so I could get away with so much stuff. On break aways, I could kick a guy's leg and trip him, and a foul would be called on him.

An argument that one sport is better than another is pointless, so just have respect for what other people like.

actually you would be surprised how much brains most football positions take. most teams have tons of different alignments, schemes, and plays. even the linemen (who are usually considered dumb) have tons of shit to memorize.

anyone can join a football team and learn all the plays, that doesnt require any skill. im not trying to argue that football players dont require intelligence. however in order to be good at soccer you have to have an understanindg and knowledge of the game. in high school, anyone can join the football team and most dont have any experiance what so ever and by their 4th year they are stars. what does that tell you about the game

an example i can think of is if you ask a soccer player to play in a football game at lunch or some other time, they will be okay if not good at it, unless they are completely uncoordinated or something like that. But, if you ask a football player to play in a soccer game, you will be on the ground laughing at how bad he is at it

I played football in high school and soccer before that, and Viperski is right. I had no trouble memorizing the plays and defensive formations and blitzes etc... but being able to think on your feet is absolutely essential to success in soccer, and hockey. I prefer hockey because it's more physical and you can do more witha puck than with a ball as far as handling is concerned, but there are many similarities between the two.

The problem with american soccer is its gay! The MLS will never catch on!! Soccer in English Premiere Leagues and most of Europe is just as physically demanding as football in America! They fill 150,000 seat stadiums and fans stand the enitre game goin absolutley nuts! The things they do over there are amazing. Americans dont have a clue as to what soccer REALLY IS!

i agree with you smokin but the MLS is getting better. the problem is that basically every other program in the world is more established than ours so anyone with any talent goes to where the money is. not to mention their fan support cant be matched by anything else in the world. i still enjoy to watch the MLS and our national team which has been doing A LOT better of late. this summer will let us see how much they can prove themselves
