Denver Big Air

So... Denver Big Air... Freestyle event is 3 hours long and costs $62.

This seems a bit crazy to me considering most events are free or fairly inexpensive. Even an all day pass to the Summer Xgames is generally less than $40 and that is ALL DAY.

Given, I'd love to go, but $62.... My Muse tickets were only $40 and that show lasted around 4 hours.

Anyway, $62 for freeski big air, $82 for snowboard big air, $107 for both, and then there is the freeski VIP which includes Preferred General Admission standing, premium viewing, food and beverage. for a lovely $207....

Am I crazy for thinking thats too expensive?

No you are not crazy for thinking its too expensive. It's an insane fee. It's going to be tough for them to gain support when so many skiers that would consider going realize how much it costs and will be immediately turned off by the price.

How can they charge you? Isn't it an outdoor event? Or is it all fenced in? Either way, Denver Big Air has been digging its own grave since day one. Maybe next year it will be better organized.

And no, you are very sane for thinking that $62.00 is too much. Fucking nobody will pay that unless it includes free lunch and beer.

yeah... if it included free beer and a taxi back to frisco... id consider.

Checked their facebook page.... people don't seem happy.

invite event. No open session before hand or anything of the sort. At least thats what the website says at the moment.

Sounds like the big Hick is trying to turn this into a private viewing for the Denver elite.  I'm sure that the folks that made campaign contributions aren't paying; the Riff Raff like us are getting the shaft.  Seems ironic that a big air comp would be used as the back ground entertainment for a social function, but it's looking more and more like that's what's happening.

wow i had no idea it was going to cost this much. When announced it seemed like it was going to be free. This could have been an awesome event, instead well everyone here understands the results of this now.

hey guys lets hold an ski/snowboard scaffolding big air in the middle of the winter during the same time as the x-games and we will make it insanely expensive to attend! we're going to have a great turnout of athletes AND spectators!

man the guys who are putting this on are not going to have a job after this big fuck up. how can you be that stupid?

Red Bull Snow Scrapers in NYC 2 years ago was free, and the after party to the event was illllllllll. ha

I was dead wrong about this!  They are letting 25,000 in for free.  The ticket prices talked about above are for the VIP seating.  The mayor does not have anything to do with it.
