I am trying to edit my ag-hmc40 clips in edius neos 2 and everything is very laggy. Is there any thing to do to make it not laggy?
P.S.- I don't think its my computer because i have 8 GBs of ddr3 ram and a intel core i7 processor as well as a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 Graphics card

Are you using the raw files? If not, you should be encoding them...

If you are, i meant. You shouldn't edit raw AVCHD ever.

Not very familiar with that editing system, but probably encode it H264 and then mov, avi, mpeg4, mpeg2, etc which ever works the best. Check your project (or similar) settings and see what you can use in your program. If you can use mov, that'd be my recommendation.
