I know I've already posted 2 other threads asking about car systems, but I'm still just looking for some answers.I'm looking to upgrade my 2000 Subaru Impreza Outback's sound system cause it is awful as of right now. There is zero bass and it just has a really flat sound. Honestly, I just want to get my system to sound like most stock systems today. We have three other cars right now. A 98 Toyota Solara, 08 Toyota Prius, and currently borrowing my uncles 03 Accord. The systems in all 3 of these cars are stock and sound great. Plenty of bass and I doubt any of these cars have added amps or subwoofers. So far the response has been, "You want bass you gotta get a sub." But all of these cars have plenty of bass with no sub at all. So I bought a pair of Alpine Type S 6.5 speakers to test them out. I installed them in the 2 rear doors to see if I got any bass and it sounded a little better, but nothing too great. Bottom line is that I still wasn't getting much bass. Now do 6x9's give off way more bass? Cause in both the Solara and Accord, there are 2 6x9 speakers in the back and that is where all of the bass comes from. I mean listen to how much bass is coming from these speakers here

He said he wasn't using an amp just the head unit giving off 25W. I've got a JVC KD-R610 that gives off 50Wx4

Do you think it's the head unit or wiring causing me to get no bass? Or do you think 6x9's would give off way more bass than the 6.5s?
