I'm looking into getting a strobe for this upcoming ski season (yea upcoming i'm on the east coast fuck all of you that have snow) and I wanted to know what all of you use and how they work for you

rf 602's for your triggers. pretty much the most reliable of the cheap options. stands, and flash brackets also go straight to ebay. should be able to find em all for super cheap. i dont know diddly about umbrellas so someone else can recommend there.

stands go manfrotto, 9 footers will run you about $30 on b&h. For holders i'd suggest these:

so i want to buy the Yongnuo wireless transmitter/receiver setup but i can't seem to find one that i know wil work with my D7000 and sb-600. not worried about the sb-600 but there are two sets specified for nikon and neither of then have the D7000 included... anyone have any suggestions?

Pretty sure you'll be good. I don't think Nikon would change the hot shoe design for the d7000 only, it's not logical.

the different triggers for different camera models just changes the cord type thats used to make the trigger into a radio remote. so find out what pluggy things the d7000 uses (10 pin?) and then get whichever one that goes with a camera with the same plug type.

Just gonna give this a bump because I'm looking to buy a flash now too. I think it was 1337 who said earlier that he was saving up for a sunpak 4000. Well they're 60 bucks on amazon and I think I might get one because I want a flash thats good and I can do some off camera stuff with and not worry if it gets knocked over by a skier or something. I've got a ton of info from this thread so thanks guys. If there is anything else someone thinks I should know before buying the 4000 let me know. thanks guys.

Before I do anything, does anyone know if the Sunpak PZ4000AF will work with a Nikon D7000? I know it's an older flash and I can't decide whether to buy the one from 1337 or this one. I can get the 4000 wicked cheap too.
