Skiers With Burton Gear?

Is it considered a no-no to for skiers to wear Burton gear? I have a Proform card and can get some pretty crazy prices on some stuff. Opinions? Thanks.

every time i see a skier wearing snowboard gear i go up to him and say "hey man, not cool bro. way to disrespect the soul of the sport bro" and then i stab him in the neck with a franciscan dagger

Wear whatever you like. The point of wearing a jacket and pants is to keep you warm while you do the sport you enjoy.

I wore Burton stuff the past 2 years because the Team Fit line was cool, big, and cheap. This year I have Four Square pants and a Capp3l jacket because they fit good, are high quality, and don't cost too much. Am I a bad person?

Burton AK is very good, very waterproof, and very useful.
I really dont favor ski gear over snowboard gear. As long as it doesn't make you look like a crayon, and keeps my warm and dry, ill take it.

Not a big deal, if it makes you feel better RED and Anon used to sponsor skiers. Also, awhile ago Todd Wallnutz and Steve Stepp used to wear burton

i honestly don't care where my gear comes from as long as it's good quality, looks good and is cheap...

been wearing 120$ burton pants for 2 y now and i love em, they fir very nicely and have 4vents, 1in front and 1 in the rear of each leg, so even in summer on the glacier they're awesome !

agreed. i have had by burton jacket for 3 seasons now. its perfect in all types of conditions from the warm spring days to the -10 midseason days.

I have burton pants, my good friend has saga, and he snowboards... also rocks ski the east tall tees all the time and is moving to SLC so its kinda ironic.  Basically though anyone who cares is wayy to into the whole "core" deal that was big a few years back.

if they offer the same goods but cheaper/better than the average skicompany, my decision is quickly made....

i rather put my money in my skis than in my outerwear, however, once i find a dedicated skicompany in my area that can compete with burton gear in price and quality, i'll obviously support them, even if i have to pay a bit more, but over a 100$ difference on pants or a jacket is too much....

When I needed new outerwear last year I wanted to support the ski industry by buying from a brand that sponsors skiers like Saga, LDC, TNF, Trew, Orage, Salomon, etc. Their prices were all pretty standard compared to snowboard companies so I was like sweet "I'll be supporting the ski indusrty!"

But then I decided to take a gander at the selection at my local ski and snowboard store.

Behold, a Burton Ronin Team Fit 3L 15k jacket size large that came down to mid-thigh for the price of $120.00. And then I found a pair of XL Special Blend pants that were the pimpest purple I had ever seen for the price of $100.00.

A whole new suit for $220.00 that looks good, is technically sound, and is durable?

I'm sorry ski industry, but this was a deal that I could not pass up and will continue to not pas up. If I have a ton of cash laying around someday I'll be sure to buy from core brands. But until then, I need to do what's best for me.



^I think that what I just wrote is the case for many, many skiers.

+for a lot of euro skiers it's quite difficult to find good looking ski-brands, i have a feeling that the newschool skiing culture is yet to break trough over here...

I would honestly love to wear the new Trew stuff, but the price point is over the top for stuff made in China, and that pretty much goes for all outerwear. I would much rather pick up some good pieces for half off during the summer. Regardless if it's a "snowboarding" or "skiing" brand. Just saying.
