PX12 Jib Problem?

What problems have you guys had with px12 jibs....i am looking for bindings and this one is the least expensive but seems more durable than the griffons. Already searched. +K for quick help.

The only problem with them is that they are total pieces of shit. More of a joke than marker bindings are.

Fuck bindings. I usually gorilla glue my shoes to my skis. Bindings are overrated.

Go with Griffons!
I had px12, 3 years ago and that was the biggest pice of crap I have ever used!
They are not durable and heavy!
Griffons are durable and light!

Well have you ridden them?  I'm ridden them for over a season, hiking all day, snapping in and out them all day, and they have held up great.  They are a bit heavier than griffons, but they are super solid.  I have never pre-released, and they come off when they need too.

I had them on my superchargers last year. I had 2 pairs of skis, extremes with sth-14's and superchargers with px12 jibs. I could easily tell a performance difference between the sth's and px12's. px12's felt dead and lifeless. Almost as if I was gonna pre-release at any moment even when my din was set at 10. Thats just my opinion on them. You don't have to get all mad because I don't like a pair of bindings.

Well then what bindings would be good on 185 El Reys for 80% park, 20% all-mountain. I am 6'1" 155 pounds and a Type III+ skier.

Have them, they are shit. Broke them. repaired them. Still shit. Still pre release like a mofo.

I recommend spending the extra money on some decent bindings.

had rossi axial 120s and 140s... same thing as the look p series... my 140s held up great for my 120 day season half the days were spent hiking clipping in and out.

Excellent binding, I've had 3 pairs, never any problems except with the brakes. A MUCH better binding than a griffon as durability is concerned, but over a half pound heavier per ski as well so it's a trade off. I like my Griffon's and Jester's light weight on my park skis, but on my charging skis- a pair of Permins, I put on PX15s because they are bombproof and won't ever fail me.

I broke 3 pairs in one season, and the brakes like to snap off every other day of skiing.

another time the heel peice pulled out of the tracks at an angle and were fucked, and I don't remember what happened the first time, but i was pissed. Needless to say I got a pair of pivots and have had 0 problems so far.

looks to me like you have to wide of a brake

no one can ever atribute brakes making a binding bad as a reason, the only time you snap off a brake is if it is to big, which is 100% your fault. proper fitting brakes should not be sticking out over the ski AT ALL, when you click in, the brake retracts in a bit to make sure that doesn't happen, but it doesn't work when you have a 93 waisted ski with 100mm brakes.

I've got a pair on my Gotamas, and I've never had a problem. No, they aren't the lightest binding ever made, but they hold you to your skis just the same... in my experience. I haven't had prerelease issues. If you are, check that your forward pressure is properly set, if it's not right, you'll prerelease a lot for sure.

great except the brakes do seem fragile. The plastic piece that holds them in always snap. I never prereleased though

Honestly I didn't like em, had 2 pairs. Breaks snapped all the time, they constantly pulled out of many different pairs of skis (not one pullout since i switched bindings), they pre-released all over the place and then the toe-pieces exploded (2/4 toes blew up).

never broken a brake on mine, but the heelpiece doesn't snap into place very easily, when i step in i usually have to pull the "dildo" upwards to snap in....

(i think its from the wear and tear on the binding, when they were new they worked fine....)

Could also be wear and tear on the heel of your boots, I had a similar thing, got new boots, snapped in clean as ever.

I have had a few pairs of Axials/px and I really like them, much more durable than salomon/tyrolia in my experience. That said I have never fully destroyed any bindings, just found that the forward pressure adjustment on sollys/tyrolia has broken easily.

All brakes will break and bend if you fall the right(wrong) way, never had a pair of bindings that hasn't.

don't think it's my boots, i don't have the problem in my marker jesters, marker m14s, or my other px12's ....

so i think the heelpiece is just kinda old :)

also i have px12 on my parkskis, so i have the narrow brakes and i've never snagged or broken a brake....

only once i ejected on a 15m jump and my ski ran off switch so the brake got kinda bent, but i just bent it back into place by hand and its fine now ...
^^but that's something you can have with every ski ....

so overall i could def. suggest the px line !

+ the heel adjusts quite a bit so you can easily lend a pair of skis to your friends or girlfriend if they need a pair :)

only one downside is the heelpiece, i don't know how to push it down with my stick without breaking the carbide tip of my poles, the hole is too deep imho ...

the jesters have a similar dildo heelpiece but better designed imho ....

i have ridden my rossi 120's for 2 seasons now. only problem i landed switch my binding pre released and the break got ripped off. but other than that no problems

they are awesome bindings. if you are worried about durability and arent super tiny, go with the px14's. more metal for durability.

yes the brakes break. but that happens on any binding, brakes werent designed with switch skiing in mind, it happens.

i would NOT buy griffins, or any marker binding for that matter. the newer weird toe piece ones are a step up from the old m series, but still not fantastic.

if you arent set on those take a look at the tyrolia peak bindings. also super durable.

I've used Markers pretty much all my life, however I switched to Rossignol bindings for the Obsethed's and Look Px12tis on my Line Crypts. After having two seperate Marker bindings prematurely release on me at high speeds and push my collarbone into my sternum, I prefer my Looks and Rossis. Never had any problems with them, i'm no light weight either, I way about 190lbs. I've heard great things about the Griffons, honestly im just scared to run Markers over the drama they caused me.

i was gunna say px14 aswell, more metal, sick binding, i ride px18s on my xxl pros and love them, so solid, my favorate binding. i no loads of people dont like the toe piece on the sth 14s but i way prefer them to my jesters (theres about 2mm of vertical play in the toe piece which is so anoying, and no the lugs on my boots arnt worn down) also they pre release alot more than my sth 16s and 14s. id go either sth 14s or px14s.

I have a pair that I somehow never broke all of last year and I never pre-release or anything, but if I was buying new bindings, I'd grab some Pivot 14's for sure.
