Skate/ski helmet question

if i wear a skate helmet how much less protection is it gonna give me than a ski helmet..i was planning on getting the RED trace and taking the earpads out just wearing a beanie..but i found this skate helmet at my house that is same shape and has padding inside just wondering if it would be less protection or not..any thoughts..

I've always kind of wondered this.. cos snow is softer than concrete.. so why are ski helmets considered more protective (much more expensive) than skate ones?

it wont matter at all. It might break easier but its still going to protect your head

Its not made to take the same kind of crash.
Think a 3 feet fall to concrete a 12 ft fall with a big speed to hard snow.

i got a smith holt park helmet. ment for skiing and summer activites.....

Its the same as the holt but without pads.
