Speed on Turf?

I just switched from pvc covering my drop in to turf. And it seems like its a lot slower. What do you do to make it faster? I've tried watering and soaping and it only helps a little. Maybe i just need to break it in?

Any help is appreciated.

Get some orange plastic fencing.  It's called "snow fence" or "temporary fence" .  You can find it in dumpsters by construction sites or other places like that.  It makes you go sooo much faster.  If you can't find some for free, you can buy it at home depot too.

yea buying this stuff at home depot is worth it... like 22 bucks for 100 feet by 3 feet i think

Yeah construction fence works wonders. Put it on everything but the tranny/lip. Only problem is that you have absolutely no no edge grip on the stuff.

YEAP! Make sure that you only put it on the down though. That should get enough speed and if its on the flat you will have no control.

Yeah, like i have a setup where the kicker is probably like 1.5 feet tall and the rail is 2 feet and i don't have enough speed to jump on to it. the farthest i get on it is to the lip of the kicker and then i stop.

Do you wet and soap down the turf? That alone can do wonders. Another option is to keep the PVC on the down part and then use turf for the tranny and lip. As other posts before me said, snow fencing works wonders also.

maby a steeper drop in? when i put water and soap on like a 2 foot section its way to fast....

Never seen lattice used, just go with the temporary fence it will work for sure.

its funny how so many of us have turf set ups...
what reallly worked for us is just breaking it in... we used water and soap all the time, but there was a lot of sand around the set up. eventually the turf got covered in sand and it got in all of the little places of the turf. later we were able to hit it perfectly without any water at all. but i think it also helps that the turf was getting really worn down in spots and causing less friction.

Lattice is way faster, less grip.  It's good for the drop in but not so much for the lip.

Saw your post in there for same topic.  Certain times of year like when the snow is about to fly, members may not be responding as much, but sometimes it's because there are probably 50 other threads with the same topic.  The one above is one of the stickies.  Any product from armorall to bovine butt lube has been tried and tested.  Every type of turf and construction fence and lattice has been posted on. 

No hate intended, but spend some time reading the threads in Build-A-Jib and get edumacated.

Thanks! That helped alot +k to all that posted I think i have a good idea of what to do now. I'll try to use the searchbar more and look up previous posts.
