Get your 2X4's and cut 6 of them to however high you want the box to be. I for instance cut 6 pieces of 2ft lengths. Next figure out how wide you want the box to be. I chose 8inches. Figure out how much space is between the to upright columns you made earlier and cut lengths to fit them

^ space between the 2 by 4's up top from a birds eye view.
Put them together so you should have something like this
__

Space them out however long you want the box, one at each end and one in the middle. Next take your sheeting wood and attach it to the posts on the sides of them leaving a box like shape. Then at the top cut a piece that would cover the top but don't put it on yet.
Next take your PVC (I use 3/4 lengths) and place one of them at a time on the top and screw them from the bottom so that the screw head is at the bottom and the spike is going thru the middle. Once you have attached however many you wanted, then attach that board of PVC to the top part of the box screwing it down the columns you have made earlier.
One final part. The box will be unsteady so you need to attach legs, either by screwing on some 2x4 to the bottom of the box or triangular legs to the side of the box. Either of them work.
I'll post picture to help with this description seeing that is probably very confusing.
Hope this helps!
