Itunes movie releases

Let me preface this by saying i don't know the economics behind itunes works but..

Why (with the exception of MSP) are all the itunes movie releases only available in the US (and possibly canada)?
I for one would happily pay the 8 or thereabouts dollars for an HD download of most of the seasons movies. But this isn't an option for me because i'm in the UK (but the same is true for all of europe at the very least). My only legitimate access to this years movies is DVDs and as a general rule i'm not interested. I might buy one or two a year but thats absolute maximum. I only watch ski vids on my computer so I have no need for the wasteful piece of plastic that is a dvd anyway.
I bought MSP on download purely on principal because they made it available (I actually enjoyed it but i would never have bought an MSP dvd). I know at the very least Work it Out and Light the Wick are up on itunes, and I'd happily pay for both but neither are available to me. The question is why?

I want to know this as well! It's getting rough having to read all these threads about how awesome these movies are and yet we can't buy them!

I just wish iTunes would have them all, globally. It would make so much more sense - skiers exist outside of the states too...

You can buy the films in digital format from the MSP, TGR and PBP websites. I recently got Deeper from the TGR website. You basically pay for the download, they then give you an encrypted podcast where you download the film and can watch it on iTunes or any of your other apple gadgets.

As for not having official iTunes releases I assume it is because Apple has some sort of commission. I would imagine that they need to prove that they can sell x amount of the film. Otherwise, it's not really worth Apple's time and money (for server, admin, integration costs etc.). Thus.. with MSP being the most successful film company of the lot, their films are available in more countries, whereas Meathead Films - not so much.

^That's just how I assume it works.
