for me:
- probably going to be one for a lot of people, but the morning of 9/11. i was only in fourth grade, but i vividly remember my brother coming downstairs to wake me up. he told me we were being attacked and that the world was ending (he was only 12) and that i needed to come upstairs. i stood by the tv in my underwear all morning while my mom cried, i had no idea what was going on.
- my brother and i went twilight golfing at the local par 3 one summer night, i was 11 and he was 14. as we played, we noticed a car going really slow on the road perfectly adjacent to us. the car slowly puttered for about 20 minutes as we played, and we didnt think anything of it. by the time we were done playing, the pro shop was closed and it was dark so we couldnt wait inside for my mom to come pick us up. that same car then pulled into the parking lot we were standing in, he pulled up, got out, and walked toward us with a blunt object (probably a bat) in his hand. my brother handed me a pitching wedge and told me to get ready to swing for my life. as the guy got about 15 feet away my mom pulled in and the guy ran back to his car and sped away. we were both so shocked we never even told my mom. we talked about it the other night and the memory seems completely unreal to both of us.
- a little less significant, but nevertheless ill never forget this. my brothers and i were at our local ski shop and as we walked to the parking lot, some asshole sped through the parking lot, did a doughnut, and sprayed my moms car with rocks (my brothers had just gotten their drivers licenses) which shattered all of our side windows. i ran as fast as i could and got behind the car, read the license plate, and repeated it over and over and over. we reported the plate later and the police found them. so A70501V, if youre somewhere still out there, dont think ill forget anytime soon.
sorry this got a little lengthy, but these stories should be worth reading so length is ok. post em up!
