Where is the best place in Utah to ski? Most amount of powder days? Smallest lift lines? Best back country? Best accommodation?

Where coming to Utah this Christmas? Where is the best place to go?

park city or canyons for park, i've never found PC to be that fun on a pow day, not steep or long enough of runs


brighton or alta/snowbird if youre looking for pow with good backcountry access but neither has that decent of a park

why did snowbird close down its parks? i remember they had some big features and multiple parks but now they have a small kiddie park with like 5 features.

A kid broke his back hitting a jump that he should not have and then sued Snowbird causing them to practically eliminate it. heard a Rumor of them returning the park either this year or next year though??

i went to Utah last year and i couldnt tell u what mountian to choose from cause there all good, and u can pretty much find powder where ever u go there, and as far as lift lines go i never had to wait longer than 5 minutes.

Totally just depends what you like to ski. I would say The Canyons for short lift lines, and you can find secret stashes of pow 4-5 days after a storm (it's huge). Also Canyons has a backcountry exit right off the lift "90-9-90".

park city for park, NOTHING else, expensive tickets and a shit load of rich annoying people
Brighton for fun terrain, not quite as many people, tons of boarders, decent parks and good pow.
Solitude for very good pow, hardly any lines, cheaper tickets, and very very good terrain up top (honeycomb canyon is one of my favorite rides in utah)
Alta for skier only, good terrain, not a ton of people, decent ticket prices, decent pow.
Snowbird, meh, im not personally a fan of the bird, tickets are expensive, there are a lot of people, terrain is good, but not better than brighton, solitude or alta. i just dont see a reason to go here unless you want to stay in a hotel with a sweet pool right at the lift line.

personally my favorite is solitude, its quiet, has good terrain and pow. doesnt have much for a park though if your looking for that. for park, just go to brighton, good pow, good terrain, etc.

I've been to Park City, Canyons, Deer Valley, Snowbasin, Snowbird and Alta.
I like the Bird the best but I've heard Brighton is pretty sick.

I personally really love Brighton and Alta. The lift lines are never bad, the terrain is great and on a pow day, there is no better place. It has a good atmosphere too, not nearly as touristy as Deer Valley. I learned to ski at Brighton and had a season pass at Alta the last two years. This year I am back at Brighton and stoked for the season. Good luck on the ski trip!

i'll be at alta all season.  really looking forward to the best powder of my life.  i'm not a huge park skier but i do enjoy it sometimes. was hoping snowbird would have a park i could hit every once in a while.  guess i'll be enjoying powder that much more :)

Brighton has dope terrain and lacks the crowds that the more touristy places have (alta, PC).  Their park is pretty heavily biased towards boarders, but if your going there for the park your going for the wrong reason.

Honestly, avoid Alta and Snowbird. If it's a normal day the lift lines aren't too bad, but if it dumps (which is what you are praying for of course!) the lines are insaaaaaane. Those are the only mountains where I've ever seen long lift lines in Utah though. Park City can get decent lines sometimes, but not usually mid-winter.

I highly disagree with this.  Snowbird has some of the best terrain Ive ever skied.  So does alta, you just have to traverse more.  But not better than Brighton?? Brighton has super short runs, and it gets flat super quick.

My personal favorites are Snowbasin and Park City.

Snowbasin is a lot of money but in my opinion totally worth it. Just watch out for all the Older folk

this is true.. thats probably why you can always still get freshies after an entire day riding, but at the same time i would rather be able to ski pow all day and have to lap more than ski tracked out shit all day and have longer runs.. but thats just me
