Knee brace

Im gonna wear big, black, one-size-fits all, strap-on knee braces for the first time this season. They feel like theyre gonna be restrictive, but this is a wise, preventive measure. Im super stoked. They also feel like suspension for my body. Im gonna case 100 footers and not tell anybody. I figure theyre just another article of clothing for the ladies to take off. Theyre showy too. My knee pops out of a hole.

those aren't going to prevent anything. I blew the shit out of my knee with support braces on.

Knee braces like that are great when you have a specific condition that requires them. But they are only for support. I have a family history of knee problems, and I wear braces to compress my knees and put pressure on my patella, which prevents tendonitis.

If you don't have a reason to wear them, and you don't do additional things to strengthen your knees, they will simply act as a crutch that will lead to your knees not being as strong as they are now.

Wear them if they help somehow, but don't wear them if you don't plan on working out your legs a couple times a week besides skiing.

I havent asked the doc. Even since I was medivaced in summer 09, my knees have been kinda funky. The bill was 80 grand. I think theres also a measure of preventive frugality. But, yeah, if my knees feel good, no way I'm wearing them. As of right now, I can't go for a mile run without having to turn around and walk back. Yip, shit blows, just hope it stays blowin out my asshole, not my knees

Gonna be recovered from a obliterated meniscus in mid january and I gotta ski with one this winter. If you just look up some physical therapy for your knee you can ski without the brace and your knee will probably be solid in a few weeks.

damn, that sounds terrible. Try biking? lots of strength, no impact, which is good.

Get that strength back, but if your knees are that bad, I think wearing those for skiing while you rehab is a good thing. The original post made it sound like you just thought it would be awesome, haha.

i have to wear them on both legs, to keep my knee caps in place coz my knees are so weak and i grew tall very fast and my muscles didnt grow that fast and my knees are pretty bad, ive done my MCL and LCL aswell so i tape them aswell. so tape and brace and i feel alot more strength, moral of the sotry, go to the gym and get them leg muscles HUGE and it helps for sure my man!
