Moving to north carolina

hello fellow skiers. I'm from the white mountains where i get to ride every other day at waterville, and loon. When may comes around i'll be graduating and packin my bags and heading to north carolina. I don't know where about quite yet but i know there is at least some "mountains" down there to ski.

Now here is where i ask. What mountain(s) are the ones to go to? Keep in mind, i love riding park and it's pretty much all i ride. Thanks

Well, we rednecks still have decent parks.

List of best parks in order:
1. Appalachian
2. Beech Mountain
3. Sugar Mountain

I tend to go to Beech more than App because its closer to our mountain house, but App definitely has the best park. Just don't go to sugar for the park. Their version of a jump is a mound of snow 3 feet high, and don't even get me started on the canon (lets just say you could... die).

Sugar mountain is crap. The best mountain around is Snoshoe Mtn in West Virginia(my hometown). I go to Wake Forest so it's a bit of a haul but believe me its worth it. Snoshoe is legit and Freeskier mag rated it in top 10 ski resorts.

Yeah I thought he was asking about mountains in NC. Snowshoe is awesome. I don't remember the park though cause I went before I was into park stuff and I just kind of skied. Lol.

The park is legit. There are two at Snoshoe which is only day skiing that are decently big and then you go to Silver Creek for night skiing which is also a blast cause it has a park and plus it has jumps and boxes and rails randomly on the mountain so its mad fun

pretty much what can be said has been said. snowshoe is definitely a haul from NC, and from what i've heard/remember from last time i was there the park needs some work.

what part of NC are you moving to? you may be a closer drive to VA resorts depending on location

Welcome down here, man. The skiing is really not as bad as people make it out to be, its still no Vermont, but last year the winter was epic. And you could pretty much ski anywhere in the mountains on and off trail as long as you wanted to do some hardcore bushwacking... Heres a vid from Beech Mountain last winter.
