3.7 fps fast enough for skiing?(sequences etc)

Aite, so I might be getting a second hand 550d/T2i for cheap and was wondering if its continuous burst was fast enough for making decent sequences/GTS. I'm guessing it would be- at the moment I'm using a canon 300d which is 2.5 fps and not really fast enough, but almost . Give me your thoughts

sequence of what. for 60 foot jumps 7 is where it's at. you'll have quite the gap with 3.7 For slower things like rails you'll be great.

Mainly looking at jumps up to 70ft max (no point shooting massive straight airs). Most of the time hitting 30-50ft. And obviously rails

I have a t2i and it's pretty slow.. If you're shooting max quality RAW, after like 4-5 pics it slows down then just freezes for like 5 seconds cause the processing speed is too slow (yea I have a class 10 card).

Even if you're shooting JPEG 3.7 fps still isn't very fast for action sports. Never done skiing but it was definitely too slow for skateboarding

i haven't done much with sequences but this summer i was shooting kayaking at 7fps, and for a sequence of a waterfall drop i needed to cut out just about every other frame, so in that case i think 3.7fps would have been okay

but if you are looking at the t2i for photos there are probably better options for photos at a similar price, but i'm not to familiar with the canon lineup

3.5 frames/sec. Id consider 5-6 to be ideal, but you can get away with 3.5

for jump photos, having 5-7 fps is ideal. it depends on your angle though, so it's also nice to be able to set the frame rate if you don't want the full speed burst.

I shot this sequence of Joe Mango last year at Keystone with my 5D mkII which is 3.9fps if you need some reference. I'm pretty sure I left out a few frames as well.

3.7 will be fine. but like said above, it depends on the angle.

the one thing I can't stand is when they cram like 15-20 frames into a single sequence. In my opinion they look better spaced out.

what helps me is turning off the auto focus so the camera doesn't try to focus spontaneously during the burst
