Riddle me this

3 guys go to a hotel room. the room is 30 dollars for the night, they split it three ways, each pay 10. as it turns out the room was only 25 dollars so the manager sends the bellhop to return the 5 dollars. he figures to himself that you cant split 5 dollars evenly so he takes 2 dollars and give the guys back 1 dollar each. so now the guys each have paid 9 dollars each and the bellhop kept 2 dollars. where the fuck did that last dollar go?

the male stripper the three guys hired. In all seriousness there is no "last dollar". 30 was paid, 5 was given back to the three guys and the bell hop. $25 (hotel) + $2(bellboy) + $3(men) = $30. Its just flawed logic.

there is no extra dollar.

10x3=30

30-25=5

3x1=3

5- 3 =2

bellhop took 2.

25 isn't divisible by 3. Giving them each a dollar back would only total 28, which isn't divisible by 3 either.

no. the dudes paid 30 got five back and gave 2 to the bellhop. 25+3=28+2=30.

each man did not pay 9 dollars like it says in the riddle, this is where the confusion comes in. They payed 28 split 3 ways, which means 2 of them payed 9.33 and the other payed 9.34.

It cleary states that the bellhop took the money for himself. The riddle says each man paid 9$, this is false.

you don't need to add the 2 to the 27 initially, as it's already in there.
