Replying to F*ck my micro sd card...help?

Hey newschoolers. I've been searching google for hours and I can't figure out my problem...just a warning i need techy help.
So i have a 4gb micro sdhc card i got for my phone. It came with it's own usb adapter but it's broken. So I got a micro sd card adapter from my freind..the kind where you plug the mini card into the sd sized card and put that into the usb adapter. Now when I plug in the adapter empty it pops up as drive H. But once I put the sd with the micro in it it won't read it. I have windows ghetto xp. I've tried getting hotfixes but it said I'm updated enough. Anyone know whats up?
