The US will be spending a whopping $200 million (Rs900 crore) per day on President Barack Obama's visit to the city.

"The huge amount of around $200 million would be spent on security, stay and other aspects of the presidential visit," a top official of the Maharashtra government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit said.

About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists will accompany the president.

Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already in Mumbai for the past one week with helicopters, a ship and high-end security instruments.

"Except for personnel providing immediate security to the president, the US officials may not be allowed to carry weapons. The state police is competent to take care of the security measures and they would be piloting the presidential convoy," the official said on condition of anonymity.

That's bullshit. Maybe when he was first elected I could understand. But two years later when the country appears to only be getting worse and not better it is no longer racism. Most people that are extremely hateful and spiteful towards him are the people that voted for him and are pissed that his "transparency" that he ran on is no where to be found.

I'm not at all interested in selling/convincing you of anything—Least of all you, really.

But, I know what I know, and I know that Obama's ACTIONS have not warranted HATRED. Like I said, he is certainly flawed, and has made some poor decisions, and should be criticized...but the extent to which, and the NATURE of the attacks—IN MANY, NOT ALL CASES—is absolutely the product of a form of bigotry.

I'm not playing the race card, I'm white, and stand to gain nothing by doing so. I take accountability for my actions, and I don't make "excuses" for myself, so I certainly won't do it for someone else....especially a politician who has personally disappointed me.

So, instead of your knee jerk fucking google search for a clever little picture (do all of your posts need to me multi-media? get over yourself), why don't you read my comment as it was intended, and truly consider the possibility that the ire leveled at Obama cannot simply be the result of his policy, failed or otherwise.

Sorry but fact is people are pissed and when people are pissed and the country isn't getting better and a guy is on his podium constantly saying "THE SUMMER OF RECOVERY" and "WE HAVE TURNED THE CORNER AND THINGS ARE GOING TO GET BETTER!" and they aren't... and people are still without jobs, people are still getting laid off, and the economy is still seemingly falling apart people are going to hate the person they feel responsible... in this case Obama because he said everything he has done is going to change everything... when it hasn't.

I understand shit takes awhile to change but Obama should not make it seem like in his speeches like he does that if he signs "Stimulus Bill #45783" that shit gets better NOW. Which is what he did.

People hate him for his seemingly lack of ability to do shit and his incompetence not to mention his/his family's hypocrisy. Telling us to take vacations closer to home to save money and then flying out to Spain.


But, I guess Obama has to go get his shrimp.

man everyone give him shit but he saved 3.3 million jobs and stop GMC and Chrysler from going to the scrapyard. Also he prevented another great depression and now its only a recession which is part of the cycle and boom and bust economy goes through. i think he could do a bit more but he also doesnt take a lot of the credit he deserves.

You checked on the economy lately? The services sector has grown for ten consecutive months, and the worst recession we've experienced in decades has, at least technically, ended. Are things still tough for people? Yes. Are things as good as they were in 2007? No.

And, by the way...the economy jumped EXACTLY because of the proposed package.

Incompetence? Lack of ability to do shit? He's the president not a fucking magician or an all-powerful dictator. Democracy, and in turn capitalism, are DESIGNED to be a slow process....the thinking being that it's an inherent check on any one person making huge, consequential, rash decisions. The drawback is that it can be very slow—as a system—to react.

You sound pitifully frustrated and angry. You sound angsty and mad at the world and I understand that. Unfortunately your anger is completely, and unfairly, misdirected.

The truth is, that you fucking BOUGHT IN to his totally over the top rhetoric that he masterfully threw at everyone on the hump trail. Last I checked, he has another 2 years to crack at it, and as he's our president, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think it's a great thing that the Repub's took control of the House as I think Nancy is a yahoo, and all evidence suggests that quality of life is better when we don't have a one-party controlled legislature AND presidency. You, and most people who appear to think like you, are actually angry at the system. He's a politician. He made promises....like all of them. He hasn't been ABLE to pull it off. You speak like he's evil, and rocking in a chair facing a fireplace maniacally laughing.

Look at your talking points:

His vacations? Really? People with shit retail jobs that make less than 30 g's get a few weeks of vacation a year. So, you criticizing that is a fucking joke and proves that you yourself are in fact guilty of hating.....HATING; not reasonable and rational discourse.

Bottom line, everything I said is reasonable, or at the very least plausible, and well thought out. You are spewing a bunch of nonsense and you sound like a hurt, petulant child.

I'm not convinced by that site at all.  "Health Care Reform Bill, prevents insurance companies from denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions."

A 2,600 page health care overhaul reduced to "prevents insurance companies...blah blah".  I'm pretty positive that there's quite a bit more going on inside that enormous bill.  That right there tells me that sites more than likely full of spin.  Some of it is probably true, but Congress just puts that stuff on his desk.  Just because he signs it doesn't mean he had much to do with the creation.

I felt like saying all that, because it crystallizes my own ideas, and I enjoy expressing myself with words. It's practice, and I feel like it improves my writing to argue like this. So....thanks for letting me know that I'm wasting my life away, but I'm quite happy. :)))

Its totally possible that I'm wrong, but what I consider to be a generally good understanding of how not to be a retard tells me that its not as if Obama is spending 200 million tax payer dollars a day at gift shops and hookah bars. In fact, that figure is not money that HE is spending on shit. Its the money that IS being spent on the trip, especially by the secret service. Its the same amount of money that WOULD be spent on any president. As far as I know, he hardly has a say in that, they are the ones that tell HIM what to do, and he listens if he wants to be as sure as possible that he wont be assassinated. God damn.

Obama is just like Bush, just look how they wasted money. You see, $200 million dollars allocation for  Obama's trip to India could already create lots of jobs in the US and pay off our national debts. I think this is just microcosm. If they continue this luxurious spending, we'll be always on debt.
